hate to say it, but it's my job to try.
(most days, I agree with you)

My friend Bob used to work there. My friend Reid currently works there. I drove by there for years growing up. I remember when all the cars on the lot disappeared overnight (THAT was a story, wow). But he has the parts, and if you need the parts you really have no options.
I do hear you get to drive whatever car you want home at night though.

So does he like fish sticks?

You know Reid? He is a pretty cool dude, I hide out in his office and talk ad jargon on days when I don't feel like confronting the world.
And George certainly does know his E36 M3, and we do have/can get ANY part you would ever need, especially for the 914.
yeah, he does like fish sticks...alot.
Glad it's let up today - yesterday we had to use the dyno fan to blow the water out of the shop and into the parking lot when the drainage ditch behind the shop got ambitions of becoming a river.
Glad you made it home safe with the little one. Glad I havent had anything like that since the june(?) '06 flood up in NY.

I got to admit that you guys are the only source on the planet for obscure parts from aftermarket 914 a/c systems. I even got a manual for my a/c from you. I have never called there asking for anything from a 914 without getting the answer, "Yeah, we got that".
Didn't know about the fish sticks.
We need more rain here. The E30's registered and there are parking lots to cruise through! That and I finally re-sealed the windshield so now it doesn't leak into the cabin. So that's a plus.
We had flooding last year in Iowa, now I live in Georgia. Right now I'm back in Iowa though....so who knows whats happening, I just hope my motorcycle is fine.
Have any of you guys built a retaining wall before? The rain collapsed the wall in our back yard, so I'm trying to figure out the most economical diy method for replacing it: railroad ties, cinder block, concrete, etc.
As an added bonus, I just heard news that a gentleman on the Chattahoochee's house flooded, including all the cars in his garage.
Cars included:
1. Ford GTX1 (number one, and apparently the one that was on Top Gear)
2. Orriginal Shelby Cobra
3. Another orriginal Shelby Cobra
4. Ford justaGT
5. Jeep somethin or other
all five cars were completely submerged.

I read that spaghetti junction was completely shut down this morning, which I can't even comprehend. As soon as the power here went off.and came back on, I turned off all the electricity and just lived with candles for while. For some strange reason I find the deafining thunder sort of comforting. Don't ask me why, I always have. Sitting around a house wiith no light except for candles and cordless flashlights is soothing to me. Turns out that the power never went out a second time.. Sometimes I just like to sit in the dark. Y'all take care up there in Acworth; Lord knows you deserve a break.
Thank you. Weird thing is, we never lost power..but the 2-lanes between the house and the I-state were flooded. I couldn't get to work Monday. Lucky for me, I'm off Tue & Wed. There was more rain predicted, but we had sun all day here today (Tue). Went for groceries. Noticed that although Lanier may not be full yet, Allatoona's beyond it. All the boat ramps & camping areas are still closed because they're flooded. I've been riding around on fumes because I'm afraid I'll get a tankful of water.
EDIT: And the garage got so much water in it that I think I hear the Alfa rusting..

Guys, I hate to hijack..but why does George have such a bad rep?
And I remember when the cars all vanished, I used to live around the corner on Fairground & passed by the place a lot. I knew from my magazines that it was a 914 specialist (and was actually pretty stoked that I was living so close to it after seeing the ads for so many years), and recall being pretty sad because I thought they had closed.

George and his brother were in business together. Technically the brother owned all the cars for some reason. George pissed him off. So his brother came and got all the cars.
The best story I heard was the used transmission that got sent to Australia. The trans was supposedly "rebuilt". That is if you count sandblasting the case a "rebuild". They sent it to the land down under, the customer called back raising hell, George told him he'd refund his money if he sent the transmission back.
