Some of the sites I go to do not support Google. Trying to download a fillable form and the thing just sits there blinking at me. I just tried to download something and I have to use Google Chrome, Firefox or Windows 10, perhaps others.
Your suggestions are graciously accepted but please use small words. (you may recall I had issues giving GRM $30)
It sounds like you are using an older browser. I also think you meant Edge instead of Windows 10. What version of Windows are you running? I recently switched to FIrefox on my desktop and I'm liking it so far.
I would definitely recommend using either google chrome or mozilla firefox. They're more stable than internet explorer or microsoft edge (which is the default browser in windows 10) and offer increased security, especially firefox.
Yeah sounds like the browser you're using may be an ancient version of Chrome and you just need a new one. Pretty much all websites work with Chrome, the closest there's ever been to a browser monopoly is with Chrome, right at this moment. You're unlikely to have any problems with Firefox either.
(Copying my response from the other thread you posted that now says to ignore):
I have three browsers installed on my Mac and I use all three of them regularly for compatibility reasons like this. Safari and Chrome the most, Firefox only occasionally.
Thanks, yep, old browser. Came on the laptop ____ years ago.
I think MS edge is based on the Crome engine.
Outside of Apple stuff most browsers are either Blink (Chromium/Chrome/Edge/Opera) or Gecko (Firefox and derivatives) based. The only issues I've ever had personally are some sites (mostly work related) refusing to work on anything but IE way back in the day but anything in recent memory has worked fine in Chrome if for some odd reason Firefox won't load it.

Correct, the new Edge one has Chromium underneath.

I hope it's been updated since, because if it hasn't been, you don't have a browser, you have a security hole.
If it is Chrome it normally automatically updates itself when you start it, so it's unlikely that it's that out of date.
Guess it would be helpful to know how old your system is and what operating system you have.
Usually, if you have a Windows system, there will be a sticker on the bottom of the case or under the battery (if it's removable) that will tell you what version of Windows it started with.
I know the Firefox on my Linux box updates quite frequently. It's the only browser I use because it's never given me a reason to change. Currently using version 87.0, 64-bit, released March 23, 2021. Recommended.
Okay, if it came on the computer it's likely not Chrome, I don't often see computer manufacturers include Chrome in the basic installation. Sounds like it might be old Edge, or maybe even Internet Explorer if the computer came with Windows 8.
Let's start with getting newest version of Microsoft Edge - very similar to Chrome, but friendlier to older/less powerful hardware.
Go here: Download Microsoft Edge Browser | Microsoft and scroll down to the section that's titled "Browse Across Devices". Under the Windows graphic, there'll be a big button that says Download for Windows - hit it, and once it's downloaded, run the file it downloads and follow the instructions.
If that doesn't help, we can figure other things out from there...
