Not having a cat to worry about helps a good bit. I have the lid from a medium-sized plastic tote that I tend to keep the parts on, I've got a smaller plastic container with about a dozen compartments that I occasionally use to organize smaller parts (like I had for the Airbus, lots of tiny Technic pins).
Ironically I've not really gotten much into the Technic cars & motorcycles... which is probably a good thing given I'd not have room for them...

Here's a way to spend a whole bunch of time (plus occasional cat cameos). https://www.youtube.com/@BrickTechnology

Here are the 2.5 kits currently waiting. For scale, the Ghostbusters one is approx ~18" long. The also have some really big Bugatti and Lambo kits as well, but both of those approach $400 each and are in the 3500 pieces range.
16+ on the van?! Does it drive on the road?
I just picked up and built the classic Defender kit because, well, I had to. It's not a Technic kit, it's old school brick on brick construction and a really good model overall.
I decided to forgo all the tacticool stuff and just build the Lego version of my own Rover, Basil. I need to rework the bonnet and breakfast to look like a Series, though. I enjoyed it so much I'm starting to think about resurrecting poor neglected Basil.
My son's birthday present. Pretty amazing amount of detail...

I have the Saturn V, the McLaren Senna, and the 911RSR kits.
The Saturn V has some special sentimentality, as dad was an IBMer who worked on the Gemini and Apollo programs at the Cape '63-'69 (he's the good-lookin' guy in the picture on the shelf next to the S-V). I have a framed copy of the Apollo mission overview on the wall behind it.
