The two before Blind Rage are even better IMHO.
If you like that, check out the band Wolf. Traditional, thrashy stuff from somewhere where they sell (and dismantle) lots of Volvos.

Wow, even more win!
Not to be a mr. picky pants, but I just can't get into the (I don't know what it's called) death metal singing style. Like the music for VYGR is bad as berk, but the lyrics start and I'm done.
This is the case with Behind the Revolver- the music is incredible! But what are they singing/saying?
I love listening to new music, I could do this all day long. Thank you guys for playing along after I dug up the thread!

As far as the growly stuff goes, you just get used to it. I view it as another instrument in the mix. Then again, I am a musician, and I listen to music in a weird way, because I tend to isolate out and focus on individual instruments in the mix.
Another band you guys might dig is Long Distance Calling. It's mostly instrumental, but chill and relaxing. They do have guest vocalists from time to time, like John Bush from Armored Saint/Anthrax fame. Good stuff.
