On the Black and Decker thread, I bought a few generic 4.0Ah batteries on Amazon (B&D doesn't make them), and they've held up well and make a huge difference in runtime.
I use one B&D trimmer for string trimming, and the other one has the three plastic blades that are replaceable for the thicker stuff.
