2 men burned in Wash. state methanol explosion
(AP) – 20 hours ago
SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. — Two men who were apparently trying to take an unusual thrill ride were seriously injured in an explosion at a shop that builds and services race cars in Washington state.
Fire Chief Dean Klinger told the Skagit Valley Herald the men put about four gallons of methanol in a 55-gallon barrel in the parking lot Sunday night, sat on top and lit it for a "barrel ride."
Klinger says, "Apparently it was supposed to slide across the parking lot like a rocket. Instead, it blew up."
He says one end of the barrel flew 120 feet.
The men were responsive when paramedics arrived at Funk Racing. They were taken to a local hospital, then flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with severe burns.
"Hey Bubba, hold my beer"
That's not a very nice comparison. Wile E. Coyote never intentionally sat on a bomb and lit the fuse.
Well, I used to live in Sedro-Woolley and, honestly, this doesn't surprise me....

Who'da thought it'd blow up? Seems like a totally (il)logical idea to me.
Fresh roasted nuts! Get your fresh roasted nuts, here!
Darwin never takes a day off.
As much as I hate the loss of Yankee balls, I was just glad to see that it didnt happen in any of the Southern states. Of course I read today that Bubba blew up a motel with meth in West Tenn.

It could be argued that Wile E. is sitting atop a "rocket" and not a "bomb." He is definitely lighting the fuse, though....

This is one of those instances where I think they administered the punishment they deserve to themselves. And for the sake of mankind, let's hope they've also effectively eliminated themselves from the gene pool.

True, it's a rocket, and he's strapped himself in securely. And I bet he did go flying along with the rocket after ignition..
Wile E Coyote... super genius.
Anybody who tries to emulate (immolate?)him kinda deserves that they get
is that banjo music I hear?
found another Oscar Wilde quote - "An idea that is not dangerous, is unworthy of being called an idea at all."
not sure if this is what he had in mind.
