Seriously, I'm looking for a used canoe for the family. I want a tandem 16-17 footer, preferably made of Royalex. If anyone has a lead on one in the southeast Michigan area, I'd love to hear it. I might even drive quite a bit further for the right boat.

My next door neighbor has one in NC. She bought it off Craigslist about a year ago and used it once. It's just sitting in her garage. A bit of a drive from MI though.
I'd scour craigslist and maybe even garage sales.
Why is Miller Lite like making love in a canoe?
They are both berkeleying near water.
I was given a 12 footer for free. I treated it as a floating hammock and left it on the edge of my pond. One day when I was done I pulled it out of the water and flipped it over, not realizing I flipped it on to a tree cut by a beaver and punched a hole in it.
Not sure of the point of my story. But it's not hard to find them used for cheap or free.
Any advice on fiberglass repair?
You should be able to find a bunch of them on Craigslist. I picked up two of them last summer. One for $80, one for $100, one plastic, one fiberglass.
I've been looking on C-List, and will continue to.
