Sooooooooo would anybody be interested in a GRM Beer Trade group? You say what you have access to, and people can offer what they have in trade? Helps reduce the regionalism of local breweries.
I have a goal of trying 200 new beers each year, so the ability to branch out is nice to have. I've had 149 new beers this year. Having the tally forces me to always be trying something new.
This could be of interest to me. Potentially. Assuming the wife doesn't get too pissed considering I already own half the fridge with beer.
i had dinner at the polish village cafe in hamtramck mi a couple weeks ago, and decided to have a polish beer. i highly recommend Karpackie Super. it came in a 500ml bottle and it's 9.0%, so my non-drinkin' ass was mildly lit by the time i got to the bottom.

Are there any unforseen legal issues for a regular person shipping alcohol? I know a person isnt supposed to ship ciggarettes, a friend got in trouble for that last year sending cartons to his mother in law who lives in NY
I think it depends a bit on the intent and quantity. Shipping cigarettes to NY to avoid the added cost (staggering NYS taxes) does tend to get the authorities' panties bunched up. If you dig for it, most states have limits on how many cigarettes a private individual can transport across state lines for personal use (not resale), but that would be by car coming home from vacation. When I used to visit my father in VA, I had coworkers ask me to pick up a carton or two for them (and this was 20 years ago when they were a lot cheaper everywhere).
Shipping a bottle or three as an exchange due to limited distribution would likely get a pass, although it still would technically be illegal.
As far as the Beer Trade? Perhaps. The thing is I tend to only buy a bottle or two of most beers. It's rare I buy a case. Right now I have 3 cases of Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout from 2011, 2012 & 2013 (it gets smoother with age) and a case of Weyerbacher Heresy - a whiskey barrel aged imperial stout from 2014.

IIRC, transporting alcoholic beverages across state lines in violation of state law is one of only two crimes specifically outlined in the Constitution + amendments. :) (The other being enslaving someone).
Finally trying the beer my sister got me for my birthday, Uinta Baba organic black lager. I wish I looked sooner as the best by date was last week. Still nice, first time for a black lager for me.

La Fin du Monde and Delirium Tremers. Had those two this weekend. Delicious. Same kind of fishy-ish/spice aftertaste that seems to come with Yuengling Summer Wheat. The current quasi-girlfriend loves IPA's and is turning me onto them.
That being said, stick a Miller High life in front of me and the champagne of beers is going down stupid fast. I love MHL.

Mhl is high on my list. I can burn down a case of that quite fast. Usually when I'm at my parents because its what my dad drinks.
I don't like IPAs but then, I don't pretend that I do. In fact, Mountain Dew and Dr. Pepper work fine for me.

You can order beer and wine online and we're talking fewer than 3 bottles at a time - not a case of beer situation.

I believe it really depends on the individual state. For example, you can ship wine from NY to NJ, but not from NY to PA due to PA's famously convoluted and archaic alcohol laws. There are apparently a number of bills in the works to change this (as well as privatizing the state-run liquor & wine stores), but I haven't heard of any passing yet.

I lost interest in being at work tonight. So I left early, and decided to go have a couple beers and watch some baseball.
Within 30-minutes of my arrival on my barstool, I'very watched 4 different people perform a similar stupid-human routine.
They all walked in, scanned the various taps, and started asking questions about the available "non-mainstream" selections.
Take a sample sip of one, and "no, that's too dark". Next sample is "too hoppy"... Or "too wheaty"...
After each of these individuals completed their taste-tests, their final decisions were...
Two ordered Bud-Light drafts, one a Miller Light draft, and the fourth decided on a Natural Light bottle.
Granted, I am pretty boring when it comes to my taste in beer, but I don't act like a "connoisseur", and then order my usual cheap beer 10 minutes later.
Maybe this bothers me more than it should...

Was it anything like Hipsters ordering beer?

I'd judge you, but since I like Yuengling as my go-to, I have no room to talk.
La Fin du Monde is indeed one heck of a tasty beer, as are quite a few of Unibroue's other offerings. Also, I generally must try Southern Tier's beers. Pumking is currently my favorite, with Choklat a close second.
I tend not to like really hoppy stuff since it tends to give me a headache. My frig has Trader Joe's brand, Leningkuegal and Narragansett in it right now so I tend to not stick with one type of beer. I'll take a cold PBR in a can anyday of the week though. Lately, I have been taking beer from my fridge and throwing some lemonade in it to make a shandy.
I'm waiting for the IPA war to peak in the beer being served to you with a flaming hop cone floating in it. I have no problem with hop forward beers, as long as it isn't like I'm licking a pine tree, Bell's Two Hearted is a good one.
There is a new trend I've noticed - the "All Day" IPA or Pale Ale with reasonable alcohol contents between 4.5 and 5.5. It's almost like they have finally figured out that nobody really wants a debilitating 9.5% beer when they plan on doing things or would like to have more than one.
lol this my friend is a hipster in the wild. you just witnessed their rituals, should consider yourself lucky at such an interesting sight.

The new Founders All Day IPA is quite tasty.

I strongly disliked IPA's until a local brewery made a quite well balanced one, Marshall's Atlas IPA.
It turned me on to hoppier beers and now I like a wide range of IPAs.

Also called ISA. As in India Session Ale.
Little sister is my fave right now. Perfect saturday afternoon beer.
I agree with Yamaha about the IPA's but I have yet to meet a stout I didn't like.
