The only good barbecue I've found in Indiana comes from a really shady run down stretch of Massachusetts avenue on the inner east side of Indianapolis.....it seems to be a combination of the sauced pork and no sauce bbq beef though. The area is the type of neighborhood you don't go into at night though........prolly not even in an armored tank column.

I had the kc stuff when out there this last time........kc style can diaf

I would freebase that E36 M3.

I want to get one of those beer helmets and stick two of those in there and just have straws that apply it to whatever I'm eating.

I stopped even trying to make my own sauce after I discovered this stuff.

Agreed on Hardees/Carl's Jr. Nasty stuff. Everything always tastes like it's been sitting out for 6 hours and then was dunked in hot grease before serving. I always get sick when I eat it, too. Only thing I ever liked there was the chili 6 dollar burger, but they dumped that from the menu long ago.

I got that when reading Margie's post the first time. I accept it wholeheartedly, as stated above.

Margie, first off ... FWIW I'm all for this .... that said, and this is assuming it's possible with your web site... how 'bout having "politics ... anything goes" separate topic title ... and make it so it WON'T show up if you click on "latest topics" ... that way the only way anyone would ever view anything on the thread would be to actually go to that thread ... that way ( the collective) you would have no one to blame but themselves and they could call each other all the bad names they want without it getting out ... you could even make it a separate sign in ... etc .... ( I say all this 'cause there's another forum I visit that has this type of set up .. I never go to the politics thread .. therefore don't have to put up with the childish behavior of those posters .....

So, whats the consensus? Is BBQ better with slaw and mustard, or without?

I already know the answer, but just want to see how many of you get it wrong

Try this - take the Sweet Baby Ray's, mix 30% Gulden's Spicy Brown Mustard, and toss in a tablespoon of black pepper... and paint onto a tender rack of ribs just as the cooking is done (so you don't burn or blacken the sauce).

Serve with a strong hoppy ale.

You're welcome.

Meat is best when it tastes like meat. If it needs other crap on it, then that is a sign it is wrong. I want my cow to taste like cow, my pig to taste like pig, and my chicken, well - berkeley it, chicken isn't edible without slathering it with something. But in general, needing to put a sauce on meat means it sucks at being meat.

Ribs aren't meat. They are fat and bones. The sauce IS the food. The "rib" is a delivery vehicle.

It is the same thing as smoked salmon and creme cheese - the bagel is just an edible spoon.

I'll cee that and raise you this SBR mod:

When one of my bottles gets about half empty, I squirt in a bunch of plain ol' yellow mustard, enough apple cider vinegar to emulsify the whole mixture, some black pepper and some chipotle hot sauce. Reapply cap, shake, win.
