Show me your memes. Need advice on a cheap mid-life crisis daily driver too.
Creeping up on 44 myself. It's weird to watch sporting events and realize that every single player on the field or track is younger than me. I guess I'm not going pro. On the other hand, It's only been 26 years since I turned 18 and there is a reasonable possibility that I can play with all of this stuff for another 26 years as long as I work to remain healthy. I'm going to go do some mobility exercises.
Youngster, I'm this many.
And Odysseus had an easier time resisting the sirens than I do resisting buying a 2004 Z06. IT calls and calls to me. But you can do what I did at your age, buy a Fiesta ST. You can get one used for under $15K, or new for like $200/mo. It's the best mid-life crisis car you can afford, and it still has some practicality. Drive one, just don't drive a Z06 first.
I turned 42 earlier this year. Hoping for at least that many more good years, followed by another dozen or so years of incoherent ramblings, fist shaking at clouds, and drooling. Followed by having my brain transplanted into a robot, which I'm sure they'll have perfected by then. Just like they'll have autonomous cars and batteries figured out in 10 years.
At 45 I had two kids in college and a pair of Geo Metros.
Now at 'not 60 yet' I have a driveway full of Porsches and 7 Grandkids. Life gets better.
Turned 46 a month or two ago. Things are not going so well but I think I've hit bottom-ish and I'm trying.
Trying not to look back on life but when you stop poppin' the beers it's hard.
Also Thaddeus Moss is catching balls for LSU. Yep that Moss. Been 25 years since I saw my first game. Eddie Kennison was the WR then.
