I suggest an official language for the US; Merrican.

On the flip side of that, if I habitually post wrong or inaccurate information about cars and mechanical items on this board, I actively WANT to be corrected. I would hope that someone would point out my errors so that I can learn from them.
Personally, my goal is continual, incremental, self-improvement in all areas of my life. I may have the grammar thing under control, but that doesn't mean I don't welcome ALL learning opportunities.

So get off your high-horse and realize that you don't always know who is on the other end of the screen you're looking at. They could be someone with a learning disability or perhaps has to use an adaptive solution to type or to even see the screen. Many people in other countries usually have the patience to at least try to help us poor, dumb 'muricans when we try to use their language or when all we can communicate with is our broken version of English. The difference between someone that uses bad grammar and someone who's primary language is not English is pretty obvious, and has nothing to do with any official language.
I really get a kick every time person B slams person A for slamming person C. Like somehow person B's slamming of A is more legit than person A's slamming of person C. That just kills me.

Ah, yes. The transitive slam. An oldie but a goodie.

Transitive? No... I mean, I just like to wear that stuff because it makes me feel pretty but I'm not gay or anything and all my parts are still original

I have a friend nick named Slam. It's because of what he does to people in the lacrosse arena.
But back on topic, excellent original post. Thanks for the advise.
I post on my phone. This generally means that I need to edit my posts three or four times because the virtual keyboard either misses a stroke or auto corrects to the wrong word and I only notice it after I post.
I accidently hit the post button sometimes too; not so much with the new site though.
As for craigslist, it's almost like some of those people think they're getting charged by the character still. Other posters don't seen like they try at all.
I'm guilty of the misplaced comma.

That one always irritates. I read it as sounds in my head and I feel stupid as I read it.
One of my best friends has probably the worst case of OCD that a human could possibly have. Myself and my other good buddy will take turns texting him using bad grammar/spelling. He gets so pissed off that he won't reply after a few messages
