Anonymous hacks Westboro, releases all their personal info
I love this.
I hope that anyone at these protests take the anger they have for the shooter of the children out on the protesters. I don't give a berkeley about the protesters rights.
Joey
Screw WBC. I hope the next nut job to shoot up a place does so at WBC so we can protest their berkeleying funerals.
I like that the WBC rep was all about their site being protected by God, and then Anonymous says "nope" in a matter of moments, live on the air.
I'm an atheist. If I turn out to be wrong and there is a God, I'm sure he/she will too busy smacking the E36M3 out of these WBC nut jobs too worry about me.

I am sure quite a few people will slip by thanks to these idiots.
And people wonder why so many people have a negative view of church and religion.. perhaps it is time for some to look in the mirror
The wbc are like a test of our commitment to free speech. So I am in full support of their right to say retarded stuff. Now that the disclaimers are out of the way... Free speech is not free from consequences. I look forward to the news of what some previously slighted individuals might do with such a list of personal information. I hope they dont get caught.
You're missing a point: The Westboro bunch are all accomplished lawyers. If anything fishy does happen, they'll be in court the next moment they can, hunting down whom they need to. To borrow some internet vernacular, they're "Trolls". They've been pushing this act for years, and make quite a bit of money off of it.

That is why this is beautiful. They are out matched and they dont even know it.

I doubt they're outmatched in the slightest. If anyone uses that information in a criminal manner, it'll be our tax-dollars funding the FBI's investigation.

I've heard people conjecture that this is the entire reason for their schtick. That it's an act to get people to assault them or otherwise attack them so they can then sue.
However, seeing them speak it's clear to me that they are just entirely unhinged. Being an accomplished troll doesn't make you have truly convincing crazy eyes.

Will it raise our taxes? No. Therefore I say, "Who gives a flying berkeley?"

This is the same FBI that is still trying to catch anonymous persons for stealing control and shutting down the FBI, NSA and other government websites? I'm not sure they are prioritizing a bunch of a-holes with a fake church right now. They have other problems to look in to first.
Of course, Westboro denied the charges and taunted Anonymous as incompetent hackers. They claimed their website was protected by God. Big mistake. A few days later, while a Westboro spokeswoman was boasting about how the church foiled Anonymous on a radio talk show, an Anonymous spokesman called in and hacked the church’s website in real time on the air.
That made me laugh so hard, I spit Monster Energy Drink out my nose.
I agree that I support WBC in so far as they are allowed to say what they want in context of free speech. I also know that a petition to the White House to have them classified as domestic terrorists has over 65,000 signitures... 45,000 more than needed.. and they still have a month to go
In reply to mad_machine:
PLEASE post a link to said petition!

I like it, but doubt it will be successful.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
I love the disconnect in logic. "Someone is doing/saying something that, while legal, I find distasteful. So I'm going to petition the government to make them terrorists and get a gleeful boner because some group of internet shutins is doing all they can to ruin their lives.
berkeley that, kthnx.
Anon can kiss the fattest part of my ass.

I don't like that. Asshattery at it's finest. The WBC are legally exercising their right to free speech. Asking the government to make them terrorists is the most retarded thing I've heard yet.
I much prefer to enjoy watching them get picked on by a vigilante group that have likely already been labeled terrorists. It's like every end scene from an 80s movie where the rich bully gets beat up by the geek's new biker/black/ninja friend. See "Some Kind Of Wonderful" for a classic example.
Apparently Anon is on a positive PR binge?
I too don't agree with WBC and think they're batE36 M3 crazy, but I also do not agree with a petition aimed at silencing them. I mainly believe this due to the Bill of Rights and the simple fact that, it could be used to no end against the population. This all boils down to the "I'm offended complex"

Uh, hate group and terrorists are not the same thing. A hate group is what the petition is trying to have the WBC labeled as by the Feds, and by the FBI's definition "...primary purpose is to promote animosity, hostility, and malice against persons belonging to a race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or ethnicity/national origin which differs from that of the members of the organization." they are a hate group.
Once they are classified as a hate group, their actions (bullying, harassment, assault) would go from petty crimes to hate crimes and they could face jail time.
