A friend emailed me this job posting, and I thought someone here might be interested. I know there's a few people around here with computer experience and thought someone might be looking for work and are probably qualified for this position.

Car Physics Software Tester - Redmond WA

Software Test Engineer With Solid Automotive Knowledge, SQL, Excel ALTERNATE JOB TITLE: Car Physics Tester

Are you a car stats geek? Are your friends/family sick and tired of listening to you spout off facts and figures like a walking dictionary of car info? ... Do you belong to car clubs, message boards, forums? Do you attend auto shows, meets, trade shows or other car-oriented events?

Do you work on cars? Have you swapped or rebuilt an engine? ... Do you autocross, race, rally, drag or drift in real life? Then, put that expertise to good use!

Volt Workforce Solutions is looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented self-starter with an authoritative grasp of cars to work as a Car Physics Tester.

Duties/Responsibilities: The Car Physics Tester/Subject Matter Expert works under the supervision of more senior Testers. This job will entail reviewing and testing data on car specifications, dimensions, performance, upgrades and tuning.

This is an estimated 6-12 month contract position through Volt Workforce Solutions which is located in Redmond, Washington ...

Requirements: Software Test Engineer Qualifications:

Must possess solid knowledge of cars, with 2-4 years of Automotive experience, Must be comfortable using computers, Must also be proficient with MS Excel, One year of SQL experience, able to run basic SQL database queries, Must be highly detail-oriented, a strong problem-solver and a quick learner, Good communication skills

Structured Query Language - a means by which to write a query to a database and retreive data. Its pretty simple suff overall once you get the syntax down

sql is basically a database software setup. Used a lot to generate reports. It's not terribly hard to work with, you just need the excuse to work with it.

I'm currently a software tester... testing custom business solutions throughout the SDLC (automation, performance, ad-hoc, functional, etc.).

This is pretty much my dream job... just wish it wasn't a contract position... and 1600 miles away :p
