As I sit here on the unforgiving gymnasium bleachers shifting from one cheek to the other in an attempt to find comfort I believe I've invented a product.
Bleacher pants! Build the cushioning right into the seat area and never again be without a nice cushiony place to sit.
What about taking a kneeling padto sit on?

Indeed it was, I remember it too. Not on tv but in the movie listings in the local paper.
Permanent pads would be in the way. Make them inflatable, and therefore adjustable.

It doubles as a prophylactic too. 
I've got a set of Camet padded sailing shorts from back in the day when I was doing a lot of long distance sailboat racing.
Just as it sounds, nylon shorts with a stronger, more burlap-ish nylon reinforced seat. Between those t w o layers that make up the seat is an air gap, essentially a pouch and in that pouch goes foam pads.
At the top of the pouch, near the belt line is a full velcro closure the entire width of the pouch.
Camet padded shorts (and pants )
A great relief for what is commonly known as (fiber)Glass Ass.

That's exactly what I'm talking about! They need to market better.
And the Hank Hill thing was playing in my head while I sat there suffering. 
Wow, with the technology of small LED lighting, those Puegot Pants could be a real head turner.
