Damn... I'm a pretty big Iron Maiden fan, but that's next level fandom. Especially given how obscure Mr Bungle the group is (despite how well known its members are).

True Story:

During Skinny Puppy's 2004 tour, a fan (well, former fan I guess) had some of his ashes sent to the band with the request that they help celebrate his memory. They kind of went all-in and mixed his ashes in with some powder that lead singer Ogre blew around the stage with a air gun during one of the songs during one of the more theatrical elements of the show. He said it was one of the oddest feelings he's ever had on stage, which, if you're familiar with the band, is a tall, tall order.

So, yeah, pretty f'n metal. Really cool when the band gets involved, too, even though they know it's a fan that's bought their last shirt.

Having the band do something theatrical with them could have been metal and awesome. Blow them around on stage as noted above. Maybe have them in an urn on stage that gets smashed open with a guitar...Stuff like that.

But having them wadded up in some undies and lobbed on stage?...I don't know if I agree.

Turning him into steel by mixing his remains with molten iron would be more my kind of 'metal' though.

Having the band do the cremation on stage would be the next rung up on the metal ladder.

In reply to Sparkydog :

Viking burial on stage has a certain metal-ness to it.

This was the tour and the song. So, basically this, except the powder he was poofing around, which was usually just cornstarch, was cornstarch and dude.
