I used to be into drag racing back in the day. I never had my own car but a friends family had a team with three cars and i would go be the team mechanic every saturday in the summer. I loved it. Life went on and the sold their stuff as yeats went by. Now im considering getting my own car. Something low budget I can go have fun with. Id like to find a decent forum to go lurk on for a while before my waiting period is up. (I have a self imposed 30 day waiting period when i come up with these kind of ideas before i make any purchases) i cant find any decent, well populated forums fot it. Any suggestions?
Here? Start a thread on the main page and wait for Andy Nelson to chime in.
Really the great thing about drag racing is you can pick a bracket and run whatever is fun.
Bangshift! Their forum even has a $5000 drag car build section.

Filled with LS pattern swaps I'm sure.....
Maybe you can change that?
Search for "Farm truck drag race" on youtube.

nothing wrong with staying here. it's hard to beat a test and tune night at the local strip for some cheap adrenaline rushes.

LS swaps are pretty effective even on a shoestring budget, but their builds board has everything from a 2.5 Turbo powered LeBaron to an EA82 Subaru to old school carbed V8s.
And, of course, LS swaps like mine.

That truck (from the TV show) is more of a sleeper then grassroots. Last I saw of it they put some monster high dollar motor in it that put out around 900 hp on NOS. Still cool though. I like the bug also.

I like the license plate on the farm truck- ZZZZZZZ
I checked out bangshift, not bad. Its seems like a pretty well put together site and the inhabitants seem like civilzed grownups. Thats just a fly over view but so far i like it.

Are we talking about a forum or the Challenge?
If the latter, low budget drag racing happens every weekend at hundreds of tracks around the country. There are many classes which are pretty easily attainable for super low budgets.

Yeah i get all that. Im more interested in finding an internet forum that is centered around low budget drag racing. Someplace i can fill my head with free information and stimulating conversation. Like here but with skinny front tires.

the Chevelles.com board has a pretty good engine forum based on Chevy engines for cheap. I'd start there if you're into bowties.

Really, if you post your questions here, there is a very good chance someone will have an answer. Hey, someone asked a question about transporting blood, and they got an answer within an hour!!! I am sure we can handle drag racing.
We are also very good at making up stuff and making it sound correct.
There is a drag component to the challenge, so drag racing is certainly not an unknown around here.

If you are talking about the nx xpress propelled lsx "farm truck".......the builder probably has close to 100k into it....just still happens to look like E36 M3.
It may be something our overlords could look into, a drag racing page might be quite popular

It seems the off shoot sub-forums get less traffic. I would just post in the main one.
Maybe but the specifics would be easier to find with our search issues
