Is this a joke (eBay content)?

Ok, I keep an eye on the values of Merc diesels, have for some time. I keep seeing this car pop up on eBay, nearly every month I think. The pictures make a rough looking car look terrible. But tonight I actually took the time to read it (space-period-space) and don't know what to say.

Well, it neice and clean, but he say he do the service in the car.

There are rust in the body, underneath is oke. Not bad for a 26 year old car. Oh, wait...

Ebay Ad said: Even the car is diesel, the car drive niece.

I wonder what the niece has to say about that.

Maybe somebody's been inhaling too many greasecar fumes? They think it's worth that much because it's a W123 wagon? My librul buddies (well, mostly my friend that's actually managing the farm at a CSA, he's got two 4-doors already converted, and I don't think he paid that much for the pair of them) that are into alternative fuels swear by the Merc 123 chassis. But even those folks wouldn't pay $3K for one with rust. Google sez 732 area code is NJ. I could see somebody from there thinking that that's "not much rust"..

I'm from further north of NJ, and that is a lot of rust.

Old Volvos and Mercs are famous for having running gear that outlasts the frames of the cars. For a while it was easier to find engines for them than it was to find cars to put them in.
