This is a pretty eccentric group so hoping someone here is into flip clocks. I'm wanting one but not just a normal black and fake woodgrain plastic one. I'm wanting something cool like this brushed aluminum one. Anyone have an leads?

I don't have any leads but now I want one too.
I went down a flip clock rabbit hole about 6 months ago when I was looking for a new clock for my office.
I ended up really wanting to make a flip dot clock, but eventually, just bought a cheap clock from Amazon that has zero percent flip.
I would guess that you should look in thrift stores or Ebay and find an old flip clock with a decent mechanism in good shape and then construct a new case.
I remember it taking a while to get used to sleeping beside one of those. It's shocking how loud they can be in a bedroom.
Are they still available new, or are we talking about collectibles here?

Too bad their alarm clock feature isn't very effective and the snooze button is useless.

Got an antique mall anywhere near you? If so, I wouldnt be surprised if there will be a few there. I’ve gotten some pretty oddball old stuff at them, usually cheaply, if it’s not something in high demand.

I'm fairly certain that my older brother had one of these in our room, immediately following the flip clock era. It too was surprisingly loud. There was a constant soft whirring noise from the "second" wheel, and progressively louder gear whine as minutes changed to tens of minutes and then louder still at the top of the hour, when all of the wheels turned together. I remember how you could pretty much guess what time it was without looking at it, almost as if it was its own snooze button.
I remember liking the way it looked, but it was pretty annoying to live with. Come to think of it, I've had girlfriends like that too.

If you are looking to buy one, I'd say second hand is the way to go. Goodwill, Salvation Army, et al.
I still remember the sound of my Dad's flip clock in 1979, and not in a nostalgic way.

I got one of those for Christmas in about 1972, and I still have it sitting on the shelf above my computer as I type this (mine has a black case, but is otherwise the same.) It still keeps perfect time. However, mine is and always has been very quiet - it does make a faint whooshing noise when the minutes change but it was never intrusive.
On the other hand, i also have an antique windup alarm clock that used to sit on my parent's bedroom dresser. I had fond memories of hearing it ticking in their room down the hallway from when I was a boy, so when I got it I wound it up and put it on my dresser...bad idea. When it's in the same room, it sounds like a time bomb. I had to stick it in a drawer under some socks so I could get to sleep. 
I had one during a very specific period of my youth. When you're 12 and living in an out building 100 yards from the house for the summer because you decide it's better than sharing a room with your brother and for some reason your parents decide to humor you and let you do it, the sounds of a flip clock make the world a little less spooky.
Had a yellow flip digital in the early 70s. Apparently it wasn't so noisy for me - especially the alarm. I remember being late twice to first semester Calculus class - not a good thing. Got rid of it and got me a wind up Mickey Mouse alarm clock with those double bells on the top. That baby got me out of bed.
Sometimes rabbit holes take you into different directions. Just bought this on eBay after they accepted my offer of 1/3 off.
I like the ending to this story.

I don't think so. IIRC they're little neon bulbs .
