Firefox is up to version 80.  80, people.  And when I tried to print the thread where Woody sold me the Spec Miata exhaust for a potential build book for 2021, none of the images showed up.  And the spacing was also terrible.

I've been using FF since the beginning, and Mozilla and Netscape 2.0 Gold before that in 1996.  I thought by now I could print what I see.  Maybe Chrome?  I've built up a serious bookmark list I'd hate to lose, but then again I'll bet 85% of them are 404 now anyway.

Post the link you are trying to print and I will try it on my end as I also use FF. We can rule out your browser.

Also, you can move all your favorites to another browser quite easily. Dont get married to one just because of that.

Mostly what I want from a web page is text.  I don't want my printer to spit out 16 pages of advertisements and assorted crapola just to get the few nuggets of information I'm after.   Many times I just copy and paste the text into my Linux text editor and print that.  Works for me.  Will probably work for less than .01% of the population. cheeky

I usually do something similar, although I've found the formatting can be random at times.

Yeah, the adds and menus etc are the primary issue I get.  I have done what Red does, copy and paste the text to a Word doc and format / print from there.

Web pages, in general, are just not good formats to print.

As noted, it pretty easy, and a good idea, to export your bookmarks.  You can even create a document with all the links in it pretty easily.

It's 2020, web pages now are designed in such a way that they will never print correctly, because they assume nobody is printing web pages anymore.

Best way is probably to try to copy/paste what you need into Word or something. Or find a way to do a full-screen capture and save it as an image, although that can be hard to print too if it's really long.

Also yeah, for the bookmark saving, you should be able to find an "export" feature in the bookmark manager. I frequently bookmark all the tabs I have open, then export my bookmarks to a file that I save in a backed-up location, so I could retrieve them from another computer if this one went poof.

It's 2020, why would you go through the hassle of actually PRINTING anything? cheeky

Ctrl + shift + print screen at the same time.

Open paint or word

Ctrl + v at the same time

Hit print

You're welcome

You can add their browser extension, but you can do it all in the web-based format too, if you prefer.

Cut / paste your target URL, and designate what you want and don't want to print.

On Safari, under File is a handy tool called Export as PDF...

Not sure if other browsers offer this feature. (And the ellipses are Apple's, not mine.)

Because I'm not bringing a laptop and WiFi to the Challenge next year...

And this is what I wanted to print:  https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/parts-sale/spec-miata-bosal-stainless-exhaust-125-in-ct/175331/page1/

I ended up printing the 2 of 4 pages with useful information, then the 2 photos by themselves.  Yeah, I remember now I've typically done the copy-paste into Word thing, it's been awhile since I needed to print a webpage.  I figured by VERSION 80 they figured something out.

When I choose print, on FireFox, I click on the simplify page check box and the view makes sense for printing (check the next few pages)

Maybe try that?

Edit: I'm on version 80.0.1 of FireFox

In this case, "Print to PDF" is not working because the domain on the uploaded images is not grassrootsmotorsports.com.  Instead, it is https://s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/prod.mm.com/...

The various print features probably don't load images and resources from other domains for security reasons.  The solution is to setup DNS to rename the image server to something like images.grassrootsmotorsports.com.  It may be a big headache to update depending on exactly how the site is laid out.

One could always resort to copying the relevant information by hand using a pencil and paper.   That's proven technology.

They would be the simplest answer. Just a laptop, it's been done before.save the website for offline use.

Why not just screenshot, either on desktop or mobile, crop the relevant stuff and print?

Or do you need the whole thread, not just snippets showing what you paid?

Another free app is Snip n Sketch.  It's like what Javelin said, but it skips all the steps.  You open it, click, and it makes a screenshot all at once.

Just use the Screenshot app on your app to make a .png or jpg of the screen and print from that.  That's also a good way to archive.

I use Screenshot to make my ads for FB because it's cleaner than just copying and pasting
