You know, this is probably a good time to mention this:
Everybody should make a list with their name, date of birth, medical history, a list of current medications, any known allergies to medication and their hospital of choice.
Print it on the computer or at least write everything very clearly. Fold it in half or put it in an envelope and stick it to the outside of the fridge. Better yet, make two copies so we can send one to the hospital. Update it as necessary. Keep another copy in your wallet for when you go out.
When we find someone who is sick, unconscious or just in a panic, this is a huge help. Almost everyday, we respond to a home to find an elderly, unconscious patient and their nervous adult son or daughter hands us one of those weekly pill boxes when we ask what medications they are on. This is useless, as the pills are often impossible to identify and we don't even have any way of know to whom they were prescribed. Then we have to start searching cabinets for prescription bottles and hope that we find them all.
I can't stress enough how important this stuff is in an emergency.
