My pleasure.
And for good measure...
So long Joe.
Too soon...
It sucks. Another one gone.
I had the good luck to see him live twice in the 80s - once headlining in Berlin in 86 or 87, back when he'd "lubricate" his voice with a pint of beer between almost each song. Great show, although I think all of us where concerned that the length of the concert would be determined the same way a Pogues concert at the time would end (ie, when the singer had had enough to drink).
Second time was a few years later after he'd gone to rehab and he was opening for Eric Clapton. Still a great show and it was clear he was in better health, but a little of the spark had gone.
Anyway, both "Sheffield Steel" and "Cocker" - the one with "you can leave your hat on" are two of my favourite albums still.
Back in the day (1972?) my sisters won tickets for a midnight Joe Cocker movie. He drove the three of us to the theater and my sisters being 7th/8th graders went and sat with some friends and pops and I; a sad 5th grader sat together to watch the movie.
It's all he talked about how crazy that movie was and the guy was gyrating around in a pair of socks. In fact I'll bring it up on Christmas and he clearly will remember that night. Those midnight movies were pretty wild.
RIP Joe
Probably my earliest introduction to Joe Cocker. RIP, you will be missed.

Sad - he and his wife were popular here in western Colorado. For several years Pam ran a great café in the tiny town of Crawford, with several of Joe's gold and platinum records on display - wonderful food, great atmosphere, and they encouraged car and motorcycle clubs in the summertime - unfortunately they closed a few years back. Joe will be missed.
Time to do his version of Unchain My Heart at New Years Eve karaoke.
I remember back in 7th grade, a girl's hair got pinched between two desks without her knowing. When she leaned forward, the hair went taught and she began flailing around. My buddy goes, "Haahha...Joe Cocker."
