Just booked an escape room...

I've done one with co-workers and one with family. Both fun but perfect co-workers bonding event.

We did a zombie themed one here in the DFW area. Did it with a couple that we are friends with along with 4 other people we didn't know. It was hella hard -- did not get out before the zombie did! Along those same lines, Mrs. Orphancars sent me something where you can send away for a mystery in a box. That's all I know, will report back if we get it. Might be something better to do in an evening/weekend than watching TV at the end of the day.

I have, every holiday. It's called the in-laws. It's not fun. It's berkeleying torture. Replace the water in everything with vodka and get wasted before you walk in the door. With any luck you will pass out and not remember anything till the next year.

So, we did last Friday at work. It was fun. The whole office team did one room, then we decided to split into 2 teams and we did 2 other rooms. We set the all time course record on our team. y0.

I've done one with a group of friends that I haven't really hung out with much in the last 10 years--or at all, for most of them. It was the day after my HS best-friends wedding, and I didn't know most of the people--just hte ones left over waiting on a flight. Well, my friend and his wife are puzzle people. The two of them solved 70% of the clues and we made it out with the record for the least amount of hints from the proctor (only 2, one of which was to go and try the door again because we didn't pull hard enough), and in the least amount of time. She was very impressed.

I have to figure that they change the rooms up significantly after a few months though. 

WE DID one for work as a dept. it was a good time. I don't remember what room we had though.

There was an episode of Big Bang Theory where the gang thought it would be cool to go to an escape room.

Of course they figured out all the clues in 5 minutes and then had to figure out what to do for the rest of the evening...

Ive done a couple, they are a hell of a lot of fun

These are a lot of fun. Have done a couple. Who you go with matters. Have someone whose job is significantly to keep track of what other members of the group have found or solved.

We totally failed the first one with a group full of ADHD squirrels from one part of the family. Everyone kept finding a puzzle/clue set, working it partly, then wandering off. Sometimes you do have to find another part to solve one, but they were just all over the place.

Second time was with three couples, mostly all sane and competent, and we wrapped with time to spare. Different companies; the first one was sort of a mish-mash of infiltrating an enemy bunker/lab, and the second was Sherlock Holmes themed.

We did one as a team building event at work a while back.  It was a lot of fun and quite challenging.  Overall good use of an hour.
