Apparently it is still illegal to home brew beer in those two states. Only recently did they legalize the sale of high gravity (alcohol content) beers and beers sold in 22oz. bottles.

Seriously people? WTF?

I'm guessing it was probably the same law that prevents home distilling of liquor.....if thats the case, it'll never get changed.

I'm sure that hasn't stopped people from doing it in the past. Just don't broadcast it to the world on facebooks. I have enjoyed my time in Mississippi. Alabama; however, sucks.

I've heard that as well, what funny is Homebrew stores exist in those states.

The ingredients / materials are legal to sell, but the actual act of fermenting is not.

Srsly. Whatever it is, it looks pretty burly and inbred, so no shockers there.

And seriously, Alabama should change there tags to read: "Alabama. Because Georia's too 'progressive'"

Or "Alabama. The only place people from Georgia can rightfully make fun of."

They're working on homebrew legislation, and they've honestly got better things to enforce.

I like living in Alabama. And they don't enforce the home brewing laws. I know lots of people who home brew and there are stores here in Huntsville that sell home brewing supplies. Here in Huntsville we have 4 breweries. Three of which are pretty good.

I've been gone from AL for 25+ years, but there were dry counties in the NE corner. A lot of moonshining went on there.

I'm pretty sure a lot of dry counties are dry, not because "alcohol is a sin", but because the local shiners, who also happen to be the city council, doesn't want the competition.

Me too. But when boss man and I used to check into the Holiday Inn in Scottsboro, you never wanted a beer so bad. It was a 17 mile trip to the store on the county line and guess how jacked up the price was?

And Sela Ward is anything but burly.
