Hey, I got an idea. How about thinking about what you wrote before pushing the post button.

BTW wbjones... You seem to really have your panties in a bunch about me having my panties in a bunch. But that's okay, because makes it all better.

Didn't we used to have purple font for sarcasm here? Or was that somewhere else?

nope … not at all … it just seems that lots of folk can't figure out when someone is kidding … you just happened to be the one in the barrel … prior to your response here, I've never even noticed you before … shrug

Okay, I know that I should just walk away rather than continue to muck up this thread, but I'm curious. Z31Maniac posted the comment in question. He has never said that it was sarcastic, you offered that into the mix. Here is what he said...

Nathan JansenvanDoorn wrote: Are you sure about that? Here in Perth a full 50% of our drinking water is from desalination. A significant source of energy for that is wind. Boost_Crazy wrote: Australia tried that route when they expirenced their last drought, and most of the plants are now shuttered. Shhhhhh, this is the internet! We need not use facts, but rampant conjecture and speculation!

Could you please enlighten me with your superior powers of perception where the sacrcasm is in there? If there was any, it was appears that it was at my expense. Frankly, I took it as him saying my statement was B.S., and I responded appropriately. He has said nothing to indicate otherwise. His comment about lightening up may have been sarcastic, but he could also just be a shiny happy person. I'm on the fence. But you seem to be the sarcasm Lone Ranger, so please save the day and explain it to me.

In an attempt to put this thread back on track, in response to Nathan- My understanding is that many of the desalinization plants built during the Austrailian drought were idled due to the end of the drought in Eastern Austrailia. Western Austrailia is still expiriencing drought conditions, and still using the desalinization plants. I see West-East Austrailia as having similar water issues as North-South California. Austrailian and Californian officials have met to discuss drought solutions, and the situations have been publicized here. In my opinion, the desalinization plants look like a worst case solution, when the choice is between expensive water or no water.

I thought it was pretty blatant considering what I wrote, but continue to be upset.

Thank you for clarifying. I caught the blatant part, but missed the sarcasm. I'll take you at your word.

I find that ironic coming from someone who hasn't contributed a single post about the thread topic, and who injected themselves into a discussion that didn't concern them.

reading isn't your strong suit is it ?

other than bantering back and forth with you/about you, I have 2 other posts on this thread that were asking questions (that at least I thought were pertinent) or making a semi-pertinent comment to another post ….

I missed your posts on page three, so I retract that statement. But I stand by my second point. Your signal to noise ratio is pretty damned low. Out of respect for the other people on this board, please pm me any more off topic comments you care to share.
