This is a semi-serious question.  I was trying to remember the last time I saw a comedy in a movie theater that was absolutely bust-a-gut/piss your pants FUNNY.  The last one I can think of was "A Fish Called Wanda".

I'd like to know any since then.

Last one I remember clearly was anchorman. Maybe one of the jackass movies, but I haven't seen the new one if it's even out yet.

The first Scary Movie, but I was somewhere between 11-14 when that came out.

Of course I haven't been to a movie theater since uhh umm Zach and Miri Make a Porno came out, however long ago that was(2008 it turns out), and that was only because I knew a few extras that were in it.

Maybe Deadpool 2?

Hmm... not sure what qualifies for you. How fully comedic it has to be.

Probably Deadpool 2. Although I think the first was funnier.

Perhaps Hot Fuzz.

The Nice Guys was absolutely hilarious.

I'm not sure why, but it was a last minute decision after everybody left on (If I recall) Thanksgiving. In the roughly 40 years we've been together I think that was the third movie we've seen in the theater, and the last movie we've seen

*I can neither confirm nor deny that the movie was funny, only that it was alleged to be so

Reading through this, I must admit I forgot about Deadpool and Hot Fuzz.

I have no clue. It's been better than 20 years since I saw a movie in a theater. Whatever it was, it wasnt memorable.

If you don't think it classifies as a comedy, explain this with a straight face.

Over the hedge.

I lost my E36 M3 when the squirrel had the hundredth cup of coffee, and went into warp speed. We were drinking.

Super troopers was memorable as well.

It’s been along time since I’ve been to the theater.

Andy Samberg's movie Hot Rod just hit me in all the right ways and I still love it. The theatre was mostly empty, there was me and my friend, another group of 6-8 guys who were enjoying it and then a couple out on a date that lasted twenty minutes or so before leaving lol.

I don't bother to see a lot of movies in theatres, especially comedies as the big screen/sound doesn't add anything to that genre for me but I'm glad I saw this.

Hot Fuzz is brilliant and I have watched it on dozens of flights, it's a travel go to for me. I don't do a lot of movie theaters so the last one that is jumping out that I hurt from laughing was South Park The Movie. That is musical and comedic genius

Gosh, intentionally funny? The Lego Movie 2 is the last one that comes to mind. I don't typically go to comedy films.

I think that the last 5 of the last 6 movies I saw in theaters were all Star Wars, and the one that wasn't was Downton Abbey. So I legitimately have no idea. Maybe 21 Jump Street?

Took the kid to see Cars and prettymuch came unglued at the tractortippin' scene.  And I'm sure there have been funny bits in other movies since then, Shaun of the Dead and Paul come to mind,  Hott Fuzz was alrite, but it looks to me like Mel Brooks cornered the market, like, decades ago, and has yet to allow competition.  Gotta admit the 1st Deadpool was way better and less stupid than I was expecting..

So according to Google and memory, the last comedy I saw in theaters was Knives Out.  Do not remember a lot of guffaws, but it was enjoyable.

I'm in the same boat.  The last comedy I can think of that I saw in a theater was one of the Pink Panther movies, which tells you how long it's been.  smiley

Wow, I had to think long and hard about this, which is weird because comedies were always my first choice when I was growing up. I guess I don't really rush out to see stuff in the theaters anymore.

The last one I saw in a theater was probably Superbad.
