These are my everyday carries.... touch my pens and you'll be fingerless. Ask any nurse. 😁
Pictured is a Pilot g2 in 0.38 and blue. A Zebra F301 in 0.7 and blue. A plain ole click pen from the race track to remind me to go more often.
I write in blue for originality sake. The things you learn in prison.....
Parker Rollerball pens are the nicest I've ever used. They look and feel classy and write fantastically. They write as well or better than a Montblanc (the Rolex of pens) for a fraction of the price (~$25). These are nice enough that you could pull one out of a suit pocket to sign a legal document, and look classy. When I used to keep a nice pen on hand, that is what I used.
The cartridge can be replaced easily for the price of a cheap disposable. I prefer the cap type, but they also have click types. Cap type will basically never stain a pocket on accident. They also have fountain pens and ball point if that is more your style.
Around the brewery, I like Pilot G2 to write well, and not worry about it getting dropped or lost. Or basic Bic is what we buy in bulk for the bar.

Truth...
I actually made a few pens with my grandfather's old wood lathe. One was stolen by my sociopath former 'co-worker'. I think I left the other in my scrub pocket ☹️.
My son got me this one on one of his many trips this year:
Writes very nice; definitely not taking it to work.
We use these a lot at the office. They are especially good for field work. Not my favorite pen in terms of how it wrights (basic modern gel/ball) but it is an excellent tool to have in the field when taking notes or marking something up or taking notes in meetings. My field guys use them all the time. As far as I know we have never had one leak.

I did. It was steel braided. But it has been lost to time.
I've had this LAMY rollerball for close to 20 years. Love it....rolls nice...has just the right amount of heft.
Zebra gel. Fat for my huge fingers, rubber grip for my greasy fingers. I buy then by the box of 10, dry one out in 3 weeks or so.
I just want something that clicks to use. I hate removing caps and trying not to lose them. And I WILL use it until it's dead. I will stare at you until you return it to me!

My pen is huge.
Now that the joke is out of the way.
I lose so many that my favorite is usually the one that is working and in my hand.
That said, I really liked the free pen I got from RM Auctions. Felt so nice I kept it until it ran out of ink.
Another vote for Pilot Precise V5. I generally buy them in bulk thru Amazon. I use them at home, work, and when taking notes at the track. I don't like any tip larger than .5, and I DESPISE ball-point pens. Roller-tips and gels are ok, if I have to settle.

Vote for Bic Round Stic. Nice feel, no smear, can be angled enough, thick enough line and I like the black shade of the ink.

Zebra F701 all metal for me. Love the feel and haven't broken one in the 3-4 years I've used them (I did lose one)
This. I am limited to indelible ink at work so no gel pen for me. These I can shove in my pocket and not worry about snapping it.

I bought one of those when I started Geocaching. A friend said they worked well on tiny, wet, disintegrating log sheets and he was right.
I'm a sucker for good ink pens, I spend all day signing E36 M3 at work. I discovered a guy that hand-makes pens at the Ohio Renn Festival, and lately he's been at the Cincy Comic Expo. I bought a carbon fiber pen the first time, and then he had a special wooden pen with inlaid gears and a thing to extend the tip like a gear shift. It's at work right now.
EDIT: found a photo.

My dad used to keep a Parker clicker in his shirt pocket at all times. (no pocket protector)
I was a kid when Goldeneye came out and used to pretend it was the grenade pen.
This is GRM--get out of here with your fancy pens!
Also, these things actually do rule. I bought a 50-pack in college and still have them floating around. Best pens ever.

I see a couple of previous references to Lamy. I concur. I daily drive a rollerball Dialog 2 which is now out of production. I also like their Swift which I have in a few colors-silver, green, and dark grey.
Just realized that I should have ordered some OG BIC Crystals, too.

Every writer I know has a favourite pen.
For me it's the Pilot Precise V7.
I like the V5, but I can't seem to find them anywhere.

And I started to think: What has been my favorite pen?
As I started to look at the options, I realized that an old standby was still out there.
Thank you, everyone, for the replies.

Staples carries V5s in store and online.
I prefer the V7, but as far as I can find they aren't made in green. My markup / sketching system uses green to indicate directions to the drafter rather than actual items to be drafted, so I really wish I could get them.

Bic Round Stics at work. They are all over the place and not a huge loss of one disappears or walks. I carry a Space Pen in my wallet for everything else.
This is my current favorite:
Sharpie S-Gel Metal Gel Pen - 0.7 mm
I have one of these: rOtring Newton 600 Ball Point
I used to carry it all the time but at some point the top unscrewed and I lost the red ring and the silver push thing. I bought the pen when Circuit City was going out of business for $20 or so. I looked into getting another one and found out real quick that they are way to expensive so its just sitting in a drawer.
I am a pen goblin. There I said it.
95% of my pens are all from stationary shops in Japan.
Almost all of them are obscure and cute with wild designs. Do they have brand names on them so I can find them again? Nope.
Some of the ones I do have that have brands that I recommend are Click-art. (These are like marker pens with different writing sizes, great for art, highlighting and writing if you like some color. they also have darker colors)
Juice (Specifically the sweet milk set for me but all their pens are amazing)
I am trying to find something lefty friendly. I used to love the Pilot G2, but lately they have all been skipping. Sharpie S Gel are doing the same. Uniball Signos also. What say the hivemind? Or am I the only lefty?
