State Farm isn't offer in FL. Anyone care to share where they go shopping for insurance at or with? We are buying a new house and I'm not to thrilled with our current insurance company.

Find a local independent agency that has a whole lot of companies to choose from, you only tell your story once & put them to work shopping & comparing your options for you.
*pro tip= physically go to the agent so he/she has no choice but to work on your quote right then & there.
I use an agent. The check around for prices every year when I'm up for renewal. I've had Encompass for years and they have been very good. I've only had a few claims, one auto and two home owners but the auto one was a big one with the medical bills and such and they couldn't have been better.
I work homeowners claims in FL as an adjuster. Send me a pm with who you are considering and I'll let you know of I've dealt with them.
By asking you are smarter than most of the population that simply pays the bill.
Do your homework as to what level and grade of insurance you are actually buying. There are lots of levels and styles and it is not terribly clear how to compare them.
Do your home work on what deductibles are common to Florida. As an example in Ohio it's common to have a flat deductible 500-1000. I moved to Texas and it was standard to have 1-2% of the homes insured value as the deductible.
Not exactly the question you asked but you are now transitioning to someone who has something worth being sued over with your new pad. Look at a million dollar umbrella policy to cover you, your home, and your cars. It cost me net net $60 to get the million dollars of coverage as it was $269 a year but saved me $200 on my auto insurance.
Next do a bit of home work on the various companies. After the quotes I spent 200 more a year to go with State Farm as they had been great to me. My first has had a $69k claim in the first few months of coverage and they were all over it. After all the issues they sorted out including suing a contractor they never raised my rates. Gotta love when a company actually provides a valuable service worth paying more for.
Just my $0.02 as Greg Voth will probably be the best help you could ask for.
