The best comment re: it's a Buffel ARV (armored recovery vehicle or Bergepanzer) rather than a Leopard tank:
That looks to be a recovery tank. Not sure if the gearing is any different, but they are essentially designed to do "tank pulls" to get tanks out of situations, and/or tow them back the a repair depot. So it's a very relevant test for them.
I was at a parade where the last vehicle was an Abrams. It purposely stopped on the downward end section of a city overpass and let the rest of the parade get some distance in front of it. It then spooled up its turbine, dropped the clutch, and literally did a wheelie on its rubber tracks if you can imagine something on treads and with a very compliant suspension taking off, and rushed past me at something like 50mph. Very impressive.
