Sorry for your loss. A couple months we had to have Sylvester (on the left) put down.
He always laid in that spot on the sofa. And even after a couple months Luke (front) and Tuffy (rear) will still not lay on that part of the sofa. They were great friends even though Sylvester was 18 years old and the others are just 2 years old.
The hardest part of getting my divorce and liquidating assets ie selling the house was dealing with the 9 urns that were stored in a closet. All were various pets that we had during our time in the house(over 25 yrs) Some had died naturally of old age; others not so gracefully. All had been a part of our lives and made significant contributions to us.
That's really sad.

Very sorry for your loss. We have had to do it a couple of times and it does indeed suck.
I'm a crazy, single cat-lady. They really are my children.
I have children, and have always had pets. Do I love them differently? Yes. Is one love more or less legitimate? Nope. You choose to give a chunk of your heart when you love. And you do so knowing it will end badly, just as you look forward to every day even though of course we will all end badly as well. Which is all a long, rambling way of saying sorry. Godspeed Spidey.

Very sorry for your loss. My wife and I don't have children either.....our dogs and cats are our children.
We were expecting it when the last one went. She had kidney issues and we'd been giving her IV fluids once a week for a couple of years to help her stay hydrated, so we knew what we were in for, but it was still awful when the time came to put her down.
