Damn, are we just hearing about more sinkholes lately or is mother earth determined to eat the south?

Probably has nothing to do with excavating million of tons of earth..............
wow.. more to that Sinkhole than just a hole in the ground.
I was reading an article recently about the increase in sinkholes, ground settling and even minor earthquakes in areas where the underground structure had been mined or drilled to a great degree such as in the oil and gas areas.
They likened it to letting a little air out of a balloon and the surface slightly contracting.
