Hayes Carll is the American equivalent of Corb Lund.
Bic did change the design. There's a hole in the cap now. In case you get it stuck in your throat, now you'll whistle instead of suffocating.

Yep. I tried to use a pen cap as a plug for a vacuum line. Boy, was I disappointed.

I collect fountain pens and having the hole actually speeds evaporation and drying out the nib in the capped pen. I always figured having the pens without the holes would be a positive evolutionary measure ensuring that only the stupid ones would fail to live long enough to breed......
