Four days and counting for USPS to get a package 190 miles across AZ. The Wells Fargo stagecoach could have beat that in 1880....

berkeleying ford can't fix a berkeleying backup camera to get me the truck i bought at Thanksgiving.....
I want my new truck!!!
It was so quiet the last two days. One idiot out sick, idiot #2 that comes over and blah blah blahs with him every 5 minutes was out of town. They're both back today and I already want to shove screwdrivers in my ears.
At least it's Friday.
Due to some people leaving or being let go due to conflict of interest stuff at my work, I'm now the only engineer working on electrical and controls stuff. I studied mechanical engineering and my electrical knowledge consists of 2 circuits classes like 8 years ago. I guess I just have to thug it out

You have my sympathies. Yesterday one of our youngest masters of the upward inflection got on an interminable call with someone with whom she evidently had an awful lot in common. They should have gotten a room.
I like to BS as much as the next person, but even a little decorum goes a long way.

I worked at a job where this woman had a voice that, no matter how soft she talked, just cut through everything. It was like wearing headphones with a direct line to her microphone.
She was really good at her job, and had a de-facto office - it was the tiniest meeting room in the world, 2 seats fit and a 3rd could be shoved in there. It worked well. Everyone knew, don't book that meeting room, it's hers. Then the location got a new manager and new Secretary... and we had to go back to her sitting in her cubicle making 3 hours of calls a day.

Oof. That's...not great.
This one is perfectly nice, and as far as I know, perfectly competent. I've mentioned her before. She's just a natural Chatty Cathy, and the combination of vocal fry and upward inflection work with her tone and habits to absolutely dominate the soundscape.
On a related note, another coworker still has not learned the fine art of applying underarm deodorant. And he sits right next to me. Thankfully, he only works in the office a few partial days a week. Still, it's damned hard to stay upwind of someone when you're indoors.
Concert prices. It's bad enough that nosebleeds for RHCP were going for around $500 per, but Even Nick Cave is running $170. I mean, I get that since streaming sucked the money out of recording they have to make more money touring, but ouch! It's a hard sell.

Find bands on YouTubes. I haven't paid more than $30 to see a band in 5 years. I've had just as much, if not more fun at these shows as I've ever had. I'm going to go see Ollie Wride in February. For $27. I love well known bands, but $500 for ANYONE can berk right off.

Yep. Free festivals like San Francisco's Hardly Strictly Bluegrass are good for that also. Some of the B and C level stages contain acts that are very much worth paying to see elsewhere. Funny story: I saw Gogol Bordelo at HSBG and subsequently went with my son to see them elsewhere. He had a good time, and the next time when I went out he asked to join me. I said OK, but these are some friends of mine and they aren't real good. He went anyway. Took him all of ten minutes to tell me how much my friends sucked....

I learned something today.
Hell yeah, dawg! I hadn't seen them since the 80s in LA and really wanted to this time, but not for the price of a round trip to Hawaii.

My brother in christ how the berkeley did you even get close to that number? Pump malfunction?
In reply to Kreb (Forum Supporter) :
Gogol Bordello does not suck. It's not quite the same since Eugene's clothes stay on and the wine is more spilled than drank but it's still a hell of a good time.
Edit: ohhh it was your friends he was saying suck not Gogol. I see.

I know exactly what you are talking about:
I haven't had the issue with the backup camera that caused the recall. Sometimes is takes like 10 seconds to display on the screen after I shift into reverse, which is annoying.
I haven't had any of the other recalls performed because the dealership wants to keep my truck for 2 days. I don't have time for that.
Pump? Haha Haha, those are for rich people. Gross miscalculation of carb intake. I thought I ate more than I actually did. Coupled with exercise prior, and I work 2nd shift, and the fact that diabetic bodies dont always play by the rules, made my levels submarine 3 hours later. The only clue was I started sweating from every part of my body. I was seconds away from driving my kid to school. I know diabetesis going to kill me, but, dude, not so damn fast.
I learned several years ago that I couldn't trust the mailman to pick up mail for delivery so I have been making weekly treks to the post office to mail outgoing checks.
Apparently, the berkeleywads can't manage to deliver those anymore as well. I have $30k in checks that are lost in the system and vendors calling wanting their money. It will cost me $20 each to cancel them and then I get to go through the hassle of reissuing them.
berkeley the post office. I hope like hell they go out of business and every incompetent person who works there ends up living under a bridge with nothing but junk mail to burn for warmth and their misery to eat.
I'm not sure if this is a rant, win or confession, but this was the thread I found first.
Today was the first time I was ever given a senior citizen's discount.

This is really good advice.
There is a radio station around me that used to do Too Broke To Rock concert series, basically they have a smallish venue that holds about 1500 and they would give away free tickets to people for 3 bands that you barely knew, didn't know and usually a decent local band.
I got to see a lot of cool rock and metal bands for free, and then pay to see them at a later date. That's how I found Joyous Wolf ( new singer now so not as great), Gemini Syndrome, Blacktop Mojo and a few others. Even got to see Greta Van Fleet for free as they got bigger.
And they also use the same venue for smaller bands coming thru or older bands that have fallen out of favor too. We've seen The Hu there several times, Dorothy, missed Marcus King sadly and Moon Hootch, Alestorm and paid to see Joyous Wolf twice after seeing them for free ( Once with Buckcherry which...,.was really bad and I was stunned how many people bought tickets to see only them.)
The most expensive ticket was The Hu at $40 and most were $15-20
