You're not alone man. Lots of folks are in the same boat for the last while.

Was listening to a guy today who said he's been fighting it since October.

Kiddo will moan in her sleep "I have to go potttttyyyyy". I go in to get her to bring her to the bathroom, which you can only get to through our bedroom, because otherwise we will be changing her sheets because she can't quite make it out of bed and to the bathroom on her own.

Tonight she did it, and about an hour later, did it again. Normally in this situation - an hour after she'd evacuated her bladder - I'd give it a minute and see if she went back to sleep, but we suspect she may have a UTI or yeast infection, so I hopped right out of bed.

Remember that part about you can only enter the bathroom through our bedroom? Yeah, she went straight to our bed, angrily (mostly asleep) declared she does NOT have to go potty, and climbed into my spot. Well played kid. Now I have a knee in my back.

Not a huge problem. But I can't find the wheels that I want for my 280z. Tire selection in 15" is pretty spotty so I'm looking to upgrade to 16x7 wheels. I'd love to find a set of Enkei 92s like I have now and I'm even willing to splurge for 3 piece mesh wheels but I have not found a set for sale in a few months of looking. Sure, I can have 3 piece wheels made to my specs, but I don't know who to trust for this.

Why don't folks running events have anything figured out ahead of time?  2 for 2 with new TT events this year:  how are you breaking down the classes?  will there be separate TT sessions?  HPDE style groups, or open track?  what's the daily schedule?  Answer:  Uh, I dunno... we'll figure it out.  Just sign up...

Right.

My MIL flew in last Thursday to be able to see the encore of The Dancer's show from last summer that we were putting on over the weekend and was supposed to fly out this morning. We got hit by a winter storm this morning that canceled her original flight- and we just heard that the later flight she'd gotten a seat on and we'd dropped her off at the airport for earlier is not canceled as well. She's now supposed to be on a flight this evening... but we don't know whether that one will actually get out either, so may need to go bring her back here for another night.

This wouldn't be as much of an issue if her being around didn't mean that The Dancer can't really decompress and unwind from the show, which is what we would have been doing over the last few days since the show was finished. It was looking like she'd at least be able to chill this evening (since the classes she was supposed to teach were also canceled due to the storm), but if her Mom has to come back here then that's out the window- and she starts back working a normal outreach/teaching schedule tomorrow.

There is a guy who has a work truck - a Cummins Dodge that has been lifted, with the towing mirrors, and tires that stick out about an inch wider than the wheel arches. I've seen this truck around town. I have looked at the website. The business would be served fine, probably better, with just a Transit Connect. But I don't care about that - it is fine, I certainly like going overkill on stuff, and big trucks are awesome. Maybe he tows a 34 foot boat in the summer. I don't know, I don't care, none of my business.

But would you PLEASE stop parking the damn thing on the street? Especially when another vehicle is already parked on the street across from where you're going to park? This is now the third time I've had to help the school bus get through the needle hole that you've made in the street.

I would hope at this point the driver has let the bus company know, and they have asked the local authorities to make a polite suggestion to the owner for implementing better parking practices.

I'm basically posting this for the guy I'm paying today.

Called in a mobile mechanic because my hands don't want to work and I need the power steering pump swapped on the boost buggy. I've had a pump, it came with the car. He drove 40 minutes to my place, then had to go rent a pulley puller. Finds out the pump that came with the car and I've been carrying around for months has a different reservoir bore size than the one in the car. Called around to shops in the area, Napa says they can get one today. Website inventory was wrong, but a location 35 minutes back towards dudes house has it. So he's going to go get it and then bring it back.

I feel berkeleying horrible for the dude.

He was only going to charge me $150 for the work, I was already planning on $200 anyway cause it's cold and started snowing, but now I feel like even $250 isn't enough.

Plus now I have a spare power steering pump I have no use for.

I don't know about his location but around here, if a bus hits anything, the driver is terminated.

Edit to say, the best people to call is the fire department. They require a minimum between parked cars.

I have a snowmobile, but some years we don't get snow, so it sits. This time it's been three years, but we're supposed to get hit pretty good in a day or two, so I figured I'd best get it ready. It's always a bitch to start, but it always starts. I spent the afternoon trying to get it running and, after getting it to fire on ether, checking the fuel pump, verifying fuel in the float bowls, and cleaning the plugs, I can no longer even get it to fire on ether, so I walked away.

I like snowmobiling less than not working on snowmobiles, so I guess it's going to be at least four years. It's too bad clean low mileage vintage sleds aren't worth anything.

Never handing a package to a UPS driver again. Always at a store and get a receipt. Had a package to drop off, I was at work and we got a UPS delivery. So I asked if he could take it and he said absolutely. No update on the tracking.

I mean it would have been nice if he scanned it then but I get it, so I just figured it would get scanned when the truck got in. Nope. A little internet searching and people say it may only get a scan when it leaves the hub. Still nothing.

Really hoping there's something by tomorrow morning. I don't want to have to refund the buyer for the part.

Thank you! Some of those mesh wheel designs would be perfect.  Pricing isn't horrible either. I'll have them work up some prices.

Thanks.  But I'm trying to avoid the Panasport and Watanabe look. I'm trying to find a mesh wheel for a period look from the 80s. If you want to move up to 15" wheels, I've got 10 Enkei 92s here that I won't be using. All 15x7 and zero offset.

I had that happen with usps but fortunately the carrier scanned it when I handed it to her. The package disappeared and I had to refund the buyer. I did get insurance from usps so that was nice.

Frig.

Plumber came out, put 150' of auger down and nothing.

Drain is still blocked.

His other section of auger is broken so that's as far as he can go.

He's my neighbour and charged me very little to do what he could, no complaints here.

He gave me the info of another guy to try tomorrow who might be able to get it with a jetter. Fingers crossed.

I'm not sure that the bus driver would be instantly terminated, but I wouldn't want to find out. And this is a school bus, for whatever it's worth.

This whole saga unfortunately escalated quickly this afternoon and the Cummins owner reinforced too many stereotypes. It was unrelated to the bus not having room, too. That's all I'll say for now until the police report is finished.

I got a kick out of my mother in law calling my wife yesterday she bought the car that she leased and my wife was like something is wrong how could the payment be that big, so my wife has me look at it. She paid full blown retail, in addition to buying all the extras that they sell you gap, extra warranties ect... She has been buying from the dealership for 10 years. I have told her several times over that 10 years not to buy from them, she never listens because she wants what she wants, and is just bull headed. MIL starts complaining to my wife that her bank is going to be pissed because she financed through the dealership. My wife points out that you have the money just pay it in full (she is clueless). My wife is of course pitying her. Back story, my MIL inherited millions of dollars from parents and her brother. She has a team that tells her every week to stop waisting money, and that she will have to get a job in her 70's.  Anyways I bring up she has a team that manages her money why not just call them? They probably would have told her not to buy it because it was in an accident and some fender benders. Anyways I am telling my wife that she does the same things and she got pissed and stopped talking to melaugh. It also reminded during Christmas when MIL muttered I never take advice from her...yeah because you are a complete knob. I should probably stop being bitter, but my relationship with MIL is tumultuous to say the least. She is highly opinionated and forceful on her (isms), and frankly I have never met someone that is wrong about so many things, and gives advice about things she has no experience in. It was easy when I didn't have kids because I could just laugh to myself, now explaining tactically isn't easy. I am by no means right about everything (typically I learn after a few timeslaugh), but she goes off the deep end and is never wrong.

Called the other plumber this morning...

It's -32C today and near that for the forseeable future. He says they can't bring the jetter truck out because it will freeze up in the cold.

He also said that my problem is likely somewhere else.

Apparently, before I spend any money, I should go out to my septic lagoon and drill a hole in the ice with an ice auger to relieve the pressure.

The system shouldn't work that way because the warm water from the house comes into the lagoon from the bottom, below the frost line so it doesn't freeze to the bottom and the ice that does form should just float on top of the water coming in. I can't see how it would cause that much back pressure.

But, drilling a hole is free so I'm off to slog through 4 feet of snow, out to my lagoon and figure out how to make a hole. I'm sure as hell not standing on a layer of "I don't know how thick" ice over a lake of sewage and drilling a hole in it. That's wile-e-coyote level stuff.

I think I can probably weld a couple t-posts together and chip a hole in the ice from shore.

Yay! Country life!
