Somewhat and he doesn't have $1500 because whomever wanted to come test drive it, didn't drive away with it. Listing is still up.

So, it's quite cathodic then?
I've had a hard time sleeping for the last couple weeks but at the same time I can barely keep my eyes open after 9pm. I realized this morning that it lined up with when I started taking Zyrtec for my allergies. I'm going to try taking it in the morning instead of before bed and see if that helps. I really hope so because lack of sleep is miserable.
Second minor rant. I realized that my daughter wasn't up for school today so I woke her up. She mumbled something about spring break and then rolled over. I should have known that. Sorry kiddo.
It was 82° and sunny in Savannah on Friday. We got home last night around dinner time after two days of driving and it snowed last night. If I don't get this job in Savannah I'm just going to sell my house and move somewhere warmer and figure something out. I'm done with the cold, dreary weather that is just bleh and miserable.
In reply to RacetruckRon :
Whenever I visit somewhere warmer than my "home" climate during the winter months, I think "why don't I live somewhere like this?"
Answer in my head usually comes down to not wanting to leave family and friends, so I reckon I'll keep dealing with our Virginia winters. Cold enough to not really want to do things outside, but not so cold that we get any appreciable amounts of snow to have fun with.
In reply to Spearfishin :
I've lived somewhere much warmer and loved it. We foolishly moved back 3 years ago and regretted it after the first winter back.
In reply to RacetruckRon :
I'm the opposite. While I do appreciate a winter getaway to someplace warm occasionally I want to live somewhere that has a decent winter.
That used to be CT where I've lived my whole life. Got cold in November, snowed in December, stayed cold enough to keep snow on the ground. Maybe a "big" storm of a foot of snow but most just a few inches.
But lately it's just been frustrating. It will be cold for a week. Then warm up and rain. Then cold again. If it did snow, it would be a couple inches and usually warm up and be gone in a few days.
Roads used to stay snow covered a couple days, now they're cleared by noon after an overnight storm. That's not a bad thing, I just have to get out early if I want to slide around a backroad or parking lot for a few minutes.
Im dreaming of a White Christmas for berkeleys sake.
Doc suspects ReconKid 4 has a torn meniscus. Ok, we can deal with that. She's 14, so it sucks, but we can deal with it.
Next step, MRI to verify damage, right?
WRONG! Gotta do PT first before we can image it to see if it's berkeleyed.
Why? Cause insurance said so.
berkeleying stupid-ass bean counters.
I understand that PT is useful in the treatment of a torn meniscus; I also know that knowing what the hell you are dealing with is helpful.
In reply to Recon1342 :
I went through exactly this, except they were doing physical therapy for the wrong thing, and it was on the job, so workman's comp. After 4 weeks with no improvement I had my doc lean on the WC case nurse to force them to do imaging, and after finding it was a torn meniscus, I was scheduled for surgery immediately. They had been planning on physical therapy for at least another 4 weeks.
It was extremely helpful that our doc is my wife's best friend, but I would go back to your doc and see what you can work out.

Definitely got more expensive. I used to use Running Warehouse and get Hoka's for under $100, last years model, etc. Now everything is $125 and up.

That's the way Cleveland is and why they lay down so much salt. Lots of thaw and refreeze so they get ahead of the refreeze by plowing and salt. So with all of the scraped off road grit and plow blades (they have a way to quickchange the blades, they wear so fast) you drive in a slurry of abrasive brine that has rust pre-installed.
Keeps the automakers in business at least...
I cue up Spotify this morning and it plays one song and after three commercials I turn it off.
I am almost ready to bring CDs in from home and load about 50 of them into my work computer and hit play.

When I snapped my Achilles' Tendon the doctor ordered a CT/MRI (can't remember which it was)- and when we got to the imaging center they said that our insurance had denied having the scan and our doctor would have to submit additional information for them to approve the scan to confirm the injury and see the condition of the tendons to know how to repair it. When we were completely incredulous at this (I'm standing there on crutches) they said that it was unfortunately quite common and that usually after getting the 'additional information' from the doctor they'd approve it- but we could go ahead with the scan as planned if we were willing to sign the documents that we'd pay for it out-of-pocket if they didn't approve it. Which is what we did- ultimately they did approve it and we didn't pay 'out of pocket' (we still paid for it though, since it wasn't until the actual surgery that we hit the deductible for my insurance...) for it.
Doing PT before knowing 100% what is wrong just seems like the textbook case of putting the cart before the horse- how the heck will they know that they won't make things worse by doing the wrong thing in PT if they don't know what they're working with?

I didn't have to jump through these additional hoops last year... maybe this is some of that "efficiency" I've been hearing so much about... or maybe I just handed them everything they need to steal my identity and now my bank account will find a new hole to be syphoned through. I guess I'll find out in a few days.
Okay, I waited the alotted time and tried to log in. It kicked me to one of three other sites and each of them sent a code to a phone I no longer have. I called and was directed back to one of the sites sending codes to my old phone. I explained this but, they firmly explained that federal release of prisoner forms are blue...
I'm almost an hour in. I'll probably have to do this again tomorrow. Many fine books have been written in prison...
I also still need to set up an appointment for my youngest kid's constantly rapid heart rate and jump through hoops to get FMLA approval so, if I have to call in again when I'm sitting in the hospital with either of my kids, I don't get written up since last time was my "freebie" I was told I would initiate the discipline ladder if I did it again. Let me tell you, it was tough to hang onto my job during that conversation!

Are there logistical concerns with the private driving schools option too, or purely financial?
Sorry, I missed this until just now. It's both.

The two things we have going for us right now is that it appears to be a minor tear based on her symptoms, and that minor meniscus tears respond well to therapy, especially at her age.
That does not mean I won't be asking for an MRI referral and paying for it myself if need be, however.
Yesterday we started our new Monday morning meeting regimen. Instead of one meeting and thirty minutes, I'm now at two and ninety. These were followed by another hour-long and totally unnecessary third-party meeting. The whole time my childhood friend, who is a bit of a man-child, is texting me for instructions on how to separate the distributor connector on his pickup, because he has the dexterity of a drunken cape buffalo and the patience of a hand grenade and is apparently incapable of touching anything made in the last seventy years without destroying it.
Cooling off with some TV last night, said TV informs me that the user agreement has changed, and I can review if I want to. I do. Takes a good twenty minutes to find the minimum combination of permissions that will allow the use of streaming services my wife uses. No, thank you, I do not need you scraping identifying information off of things I watch on a connected DVD player, nor do I want you to "provide more relevant suggestions" or "improve my ad experience" by monitoring my actions and choices.
This morning I got a reminder to update Autodesk Desktop Connector. I don't know what that is, but I have to have it and it has to be kept up to date. Between the update process and the newly implemented Admin By Request function and the mandatory reboot, we're knocking on two dozen clicks. Efficiency in action.
Following the reboot, Outlook has updated to some new variant. Oh boy, it's new! Change it back. This wheel is already round. Leave it alone.
No sooner had I unwound the Outlook update than Teams showed me this very important offer:
No, thank you, but you do not need me to willingly provide a voice profile. Nor will there be a fingerprint, retinal scan, rectal scan, DNA sample, social media login, or optional gratuity.
When I say (and I say it often), "I hate the future", this is the future I hate.
Every day is the future I hate.

Cleveland Rocks!
Yo, GM Techline, if literally every time I call you for the past three years you are "experiencing higher than average call volume", guess what, that's your new average and you need to adjust staffing accordingly. Just tried to call them and was told I was caller 38 in line and my wait time was 139-147 minutes.
The valve in one of our toilets started leaking so I bought a new valve and flapper this morning. I got those installed and hooked up the water line which immediately started leaking. So much for getting everything that could possibly need replacement. Back to the HW store. When I got home the garage door wouldn't open. I tried a couple times and saw that the upper center of the door was bowing inward. Berking spring broke. Great. Back the toilet... I started hooking up the new hose and realized that if the plumber had rotated the valve 90 degrees it would have taken a lot of strain off the hose. Thankfully the valve was mounted with a compression fitting and it didn't leak after I adjusted it.
Every time I work on the house I'm afraid that something else is going to break or worse that something I can't fix will break.
You'll need to log in to post.
