I had a $500 car listed. I got dozens of emails, every one a sob story about how I needed to give them the car for free.

So I cleaned it up and fixed it up more and listed it for $1000.

Now I have people emailing in lowball offers without even looking at the car, or the stupidest questions (like how's the backseat, it's a berking FIERO!!!). The biggest head-scratchers are the people who write in wanting the car and after a ton of back-and-forth it comes out they can't afford it until the end of the month.Seriously?!?

A guy fooled me on the last truck though. I caught on after realizing he's mentioned where he worked 3 times and every plant he named was in an unrelated part of a factory I worked at for almost a year in college! Thank you for your time, I won't be hearing back from you.

The scariest creepiest people I've had come look at a vehicle, 75% of the time have been the buyers and actually good for their money and word. If they look normal anymore it makes me nervous.

I followed a woman home one day that damn near ran me over while talking on her cell, making and illegal left in her Navigator. Chewed her ass out and when she threatened to call the police, I told her that was a great idea she should and then we can pull the tapes from the 6 cameras at that intersection and see how her license and insurance looks in a month. She apologized and went inside.

Hour 25 since I've been involved in this server restore . . .

Cliff notes: Windows admin blows the VM up trying to extend/add space to C: partition.

He makes a Snapshot, makes adds the space, checks VM and deletes the snapshot.

Few hours later VM dies and Admins are shrugging shoulders. They proceed to build a new VM and 25 hours later . . . the admins are still "tweaking" it since we found so many issues when they turned it over to us an hour ago.

So why did the admin delete the snapshot that would save all this labor? Because he was fussed at for not deleting them when they are no longer valid. His solution, delete them immediately.

Uh . . . instead of deleting them right after a major change, why not wait 48 hours THEN delete it once the OS has been deemed stable . . .

I know this is not a major problem and it stinks of 'first world', but anyway:

I wish my silly company would just pay me for what I am worth rather than making me sell myself and show off to get extra bonus super secret merit points to catch up with the other folks who install stoves for their boss's boss and such. As it is, my piddly salary doesn't earn enough to send three to school next year and continue paying the mortgage, and I can't even get them to honor the flex time they say they offer to let my wife take on extra work from home with the two littler ones while I drop off and pick up the two less little ones from school.

Seriously irritating. I do a damn good job, and the only way to get a pay bump is to jam your nose in someone's behind.

Had that problem with my Local. The Call Steward was jumping the list to cherry pick who -he- wanted for the calls. After 2 years of getting no work at all (along with a lot of other people) we finally raised hell and he got forced out

Work and school are starting to overwhelm me a bit.

I'm an idiot for deciding I would rather have five 18 hour days and have a "weekend" as opposed to working 8-10 hours a day every day for a few months.

Taking this motherberker one week at a time.

Sleep deprivation and 40 tons of vehicle REALLY shouldn't mix though.

Just going through a rough patch. Trying to make a complete lifestyle change because of some health issues while working and going to school full time, is a lot harder than I thought.

1000ish bucks is what I have to work with while I'm looking. Here's what you get:

1) Stuff that isn't selling for 1000, but has no price so that it shows up no matter what you look for.

2) Junk

3) Stuff that's priced so low you don't even have to bother clicking the link to know that something big is broken.

4)Crap

5)Overpriced crap

6) Something that might actually be worth buying, so when you message them they never respond back, and of course they didn't list any other way to contact them.

7) Something being sold by an shiny happy person who doesn't understand the first thing about what he's selling.

Gee. I get massive numbers of texts from people who could have all their questions answered quickly and easily if they would just PHONE me...

I'll gladly call somebody that actually replies to my email response. If you're not serious enough to answer a single question, then you are wasting everybody's time.

i've decided that if someone posts a CL ad with no pics, they are either spamming for responses or not really serious about selling it, so i flag appropriately.

Damn lapse in attention and I am now sitting in urgent care waiting to see if I need stitches for putting a razor blade thru my thumbnail and end of thumb. Looked too deep for duct tape and superglue this time.
