I now have a lift. Still have to install it. Kind of a big day.
Congrats! I'll have to check into that brand. Let me know what you think of it!
I think I'd still go for this one, though you have to have at least 9' of ceiling clearance.

I like that link. Wonder if I can get a discount? I'm not that Greg Smith, unfortunately...
For all the vulgar, ugly, disgusting, and utterly distasteful things to come out of this election, there was at least one silver lining to emerge these past few days: Never have I seen such prolific use of the word "Weiner" in mainstream media . Well, except for maybe the last time he was in the news as a result of some sort of sexual impropriety.
Call me childish if you will, but "Weiner" still makes me giggle.

I've been actively shopping for my first house for a couple weeks. After looking at 8 or so and walking away from one after an inspection I found the perfect one. 3 car garage, 1.24 acres on two lots, fenced back yard. It came on the market yesterday and I looked at it and made an offer today. Just heard the seller accepted my offer.
Congratulations!
My minor win is that my $600 miata is awsome.
I ran the Marine Corps Marathon this weekend 13 minutes quicker than last year.
Build Thread? I'm also in the hunt for a non-spendy MIata.

None yet. Maybe not ever, but you never can tell....
I got a letter from Labor and Industries today stating that my Affadavit of Experience has been accepted and that 4220 hours of on the job training have been approved. Since I have already met the education requirements, I should see my exam approval letter within a week.
I've been working on this for almost four years to the day day and I can finally say "Holy E36 M3, I'm going to be an electrician!"

Northeast of Lincoln Village, tucked up by 270 and the railroad tracks.
I wasn't looking there originally but couldn't pass this one up. I'll have to have a Columbus GRM get together sometime.
My newest toy just arrived, and it actually works well! I'd been kicking around an inspection camera for a while, but know I wouldn't need it enough to warrant an expensive one. For $15, I'm beyond excited about this one, as it plugs into my old android phone that I've been using as a digital dash/code reader anyway.

Very cool. I might be able to squeeze some time out to help also if you need it.
I sat on my couch and watched my neighbor struggle to get her ancient, dejected lawnmower started for about 15 minutes before deciding to help her out. I had to wait until she was good and frustrated, obviously. After poking around for a few minutes and verifying it had spark, I was reasonably convinced that I could have it running in a few minutes. So, I made a deal with her; if I get this old turd started before dark, you mow my lawn with it. Deal!
I ran off to the basement and grabbed a tin of mineral spirits, pulled off the soaking wet air cleaner, dumped some of that fine aged petroleum product down its gullet, hit the choke, and gave it one hell of a pull.
It coughed to life and puked a solid stream of water and thick, blue smoke for about thirty seconds before clearing up and settling down to a reasonable idle. I thanked her and asked her to kindly remember to do the bit around the side of the house next to the fence and headed back inside without another word.
She's out there mowing my lawn while I enjoy a nice cold beer from Fort George Brewing in the comfort of my own home.
After a pretty hellish work week, I needed that.
Finally figured out how to get an older version of VMware Player uninstalled so that I can get the eBay bootleg TIS software running on my PC after it was upgraded to Win 10!
I scored a front bumper, mazdaspeed lip, clean decklid with spoiler, side sills, all in the same shade of silver for $300, bringing my total miata investment to $900.
I also scored a mossberg pump for 175.
Today has been an expensive, but good day.

I'm laying in bed in my motorhome which is parked in the campground at Carter Caves. Got my kids with me, brought a little Willett, a little Rhinegeist, and have all day tomorrow for hiking and all night tomorrow night for smores. Life is good.

Found a closeout semiauto Savage .22 rifle for $35. New in box. Could not pass that up :)
142,600 miles and the back brakes are squeaking so I buy front/rear pads to change it all out. Rear brakes done one evening and the fronts today and they still have a lot of meat on them. First time my rear brakes went and the fronts didn't. I didn't need to do the front brakes?
Honda Accords are too simple - almost 143,000 miles on the original pads?
Clicked onto Facebook for the first time in months just to see how bad the hysteria is, but to my surprise things seemed pretty civil. Even the usual culprits on both sides of the spectrum, who's soapbox rants were a big part of what drove me off FB in the first place, seemed pretty conciliatory. So instead of reading political rants I'm talking Bimmers with some college buddies instead. Perhaps there is hope after all.
I've annoyed a coworker by calling him out on his BS. He's now giving me the cold shoulder and refusing to speak with me as a form of punishment.
I'm trying not to let on that I'm thrilled. These last few shifts have been great!

Accept it as a blessing.
One shiny happy person in our gang didn't speak to me for five years after I threw him out of the Powerball pool because he repeatedly couldn't pay on time.
More recently another shiny happy person didn't speak to me for five months because I wouldn't let him take over the job I set up. No great loss.
It ain't all on me, if I had issues w/ co-workers everybody else including mgmt. had issues w/ them as well. Some people just gotta be shiny happy people.
Enjoy it for all it's worth, the shiny happy person may decide to speak again.

$14 JVC speakers from Amazon to replace the 26-year-old OEM paper-cone speakers in my Acura.
I've stepped away from Facebook, preparing for a run to Atlanta of cannonball proportions (fly and driving the RX8) and I talked to someone about another vehicle that I could give a forever home to.
Life is more than good, it's eVil!
First day of planned unemployment. I just got up. And made coffee. Usually id have already been at work for an hour.
