Microwave that died this Easter Sunday ended up being a dirty door interlock switch. 15 minutes later, I was heating leftovers this evening.

Went on a date Saturday night (our fourth) and I finally kissed her. Life is good.
Dating as an adult is tough.

That's what keeps my wife and I together. The thought of the dating scene at 53 years old scares us enough to keep us together.
I've been single again for 4 years, and at 55, I still haven't come up with a legitimate reason to seek out another basket of woe.
Today was the ideal day off. Slept in a little bit, great weather, made progress on the car project, got some yard work done, and grilled burgers for dinner. I love it when getting stuff done is fun.

Posted so I could upvote again.
7 years married now and I still remember that moment. Congrats man, get some!
Friends in from out of town. Great to spend time with them. And he wants to work on the deck, because he misses swinging a hammer.

It was tough for me as a teen. I would really suck at it now.

Now that is a friend.
This is almost on the rant thread.
Got a letter yesterday from my trusty bank telling me the interest on my credit card was going up to 22.9%. I liked to have freaked out (redneckism). Called the bank first thing this am and the first thing the girl said was,"does it say for cash advances?" Yup, it sure did. I didn't read it right. Talk about a turnaround of emotions.
Listed the what was left of the Yugo shell on the Portland Craigslist freebies section this morning before work. Basically just said "no engine, trans, or suspension. Bring a flatbed and winch. Titles in the car. Good luck!"
It was gone by 11am. One car down, 2 to go!
I finally got the last deck rebuilt. And was able to score full speedhut gauges for the duster for 200.
It took 6 months, but I finally unloaded the really clean Caliber I bought from the insurance auction. And I got my asking price. I am so glad that clean, quiet, good running, economical bucket of crap is gone.
Edit- A corollary to the above- I have a NOS GM 67 Camaro RS fender that I bought in 2002. It was the only fender left in GM stock, and I thought I would convert the front brackets over to non RS, but today when I picked up the other fender, I realised it was going to be a pretty big job to make it nice, so I just ordered another Dynacorn non-RS fender, and put the OE one up on a local Facebook buy and sell for $800cdn, which is about twice what the Dynacorn one will cost. A guy messaged me, offered $600, and I found the invoice from 2002, where I paid $517 dollars. I messaged back that I figured I wasn't asking enough, and I deleted the ad.
I enjoyed that.
Edit #2- turns out Classic Industries has the same OE fender I have. They are asking $1300...which is about $1700cdn just now. That coulda been an oopsie.
My wife and I have been married 9 years today. And she hasn't threatened to kill me in 2. I am truly blessed.
My aunt and uncle are visiting this weekend. That's win #1. We rarely see them because they live a good 5 hour drive away.
Win 2, my uncle makes wine, and he brought a bunch.
Win 3, he has a giant 2 stage air compressor he doesn't want anymore, along with a bunch of air tools including a sander and a bunch of sanding disks. This is all located at his house, a long ways away, which brings us to...
Win 4, we now have an excuse to go see him again this summer, get the air compressor, and fill back up on wine. Also maybe check out his old Alfa Romeo spyder.
I forgot unrelated win #5, we just got another huge storage unit. By huge I mean my parents have one with a giant motor home, a mustang, a supra, a Miata, a motorcycle, and a bunch of appliances in it. In one unit. The price is very good, and we know the people who own it. Great people, I might add. I used to have one more car than I have room for. Turns out I have room for LOTS more just no extra cash for them
Today was the first productive day I've had in a while. My dad came down, we fixed the sink, tilled the garden, cut down a tree that was leaning over my fence, hit a yard sale and got some gardening tools, went to lowes, fixed the starting chord on the tiller, grilled some hotdogs, took a load of scrap metal to the junkyard and made $11. After he left I cleaned out the flower garden and cleaned up the basement a little. Feels good to get something done for once. Now I Will Watch College BBALL with my pug the rest Of The night. Tomorrow morning, disc golf.

Just had my 15th a week back. How she puts up with me I will never understand.
Finished up my online programming course today, with some help from a multiple-choice quiz. Finished the programming assignment just enough to be able to answer the questions, which saved me from spending hours getting it the last of the way there.
After work everything has just been peaceful, kids are quiet watching a movie with there mom and it feels great too just relax!
Ever realize as an adult how you never appreciated how awesome your parents were when you were younger?
I recently got into a debate with my dad about how long a magnetron tube in a microwave will last while cooking metal inside it. He seemed to think it screws them up really, REALLY quickly. I, having seen the YouTube show "is it a good idea to microwave this?" suggested they last longer than he thought.
We just so happened to have a microwave we had replaced for a customer. The old one worked, but had massive damage due to a grease fire. We also had an old circuit board that had fried itself. Both of these things were in the trailer, awaiting out next trip to the dump. You can see where this is going.
Anyway, after a very exciting minute of cooking, sparking, burning, and general chaos, we opened the door of the still-working microwave, let the smoke out, and examined the worse circuit board catastrophe we had ever seen.
We totally forgot all about the debate, and immediately started thinking of other things to throw in there.
Life is full of win lately. Not for the circuit board, though.
Dug an old PC out of the basement and brought it back from the dead for $5. Yea garage computer!
Also finished a 12vdc bench top power supply.
And my wife ran down to the basement to show me Dr. Who episodes are now on Amazon Prime.
We are a happy home of Whovians!

Did you use one of the breakout boards you can buy or wire it up yourself? I need to make the one I have been planning before our first rallycross to power the timing equipment...

No, no breakout board on this one. This is a re-wired power supply out of a PC. It was super easy. I only went for the 12v version rather than the multiples...
