Berkeleying awesome
I love monster trucks
Definitely haven't seen that before
Probably would have spilled my beer... likely on my own person.
Did I mention I love monster trucks?
The engineering in those things is simply amazing.
Very cool. I wish we had a decent sized venue for them to play in.
I was trying to figure out how a monster truck could do a front flip without bouncing the front tires off the ground...clever!
I'll admit I don't know a whole lot about it, but the thing I love about Monster Jam is that they really seem to be all about putting on a great show for the fans. Among the drivers, I don't see a lot of big egos. I see a bunch of down-to-earth guys that really enjoy what they do.
Wheels are giant gyroscopes. Accelerate wheels to backflip, decelerate (or reverse) to front flip.
Works on bikes, quads, snowmobiles, etc.
Not that I can do a flip on any of those things mind you.

me and my buddy were talking after seeing this video, we think he probably did something similar by accident previously that just didnt work as well and after was like "yea, i could totally make a front flip happen if i do that again just slightly different"

I've been thinking the same thing. Caught a slap wheelie off of the landing, decided to hold onto it, and got lucky. I know Lee O'Donnell to be a bit of a nut when it comes to stunts, so anything is possible.
Okay, that front flip was seriously impressive.
The flubbed back flip finale? Not so much. Way to rain on your own parade.
Makes me wonder how much they have to spend rebuilding the trucks after ONE event. Even without the drivers putting them shiny-side-down.

Admittedly I did think the Dennis Anderson tribute was a mess.
O.K. That was pretty damn cool. Just how and where does one practice that, and just how much stuff got torn up until the driver figured out how to do it right?
I believe it was intentional. These guys spend a lot of time practicing stunts and have made leaps and bounds recently. Ever notice how good they are at getting it back on four wheels when they flip with just throttle inputs? They remove the expensive shells and practice their flips with the raw cage to minimize damage.
I'm pretty sure it was intentional . When we visit our friends in Virginia we usually make a trip down to Grave Digger's shop in North Carolina, for my friend's boys of course. They have a field out back where they practice these moves and it's a blast to watch. They also have a monster truck set up for passengers that they take out on a course. The two youngest were afraid of it and my wife charged up the steps yelling "shotgun" and strapped herself in. I grew up watching them in stadiums and thought that was great but if you ever have the chance to see them outdoors in a big venue do it.
Last year at the fair my buddy and his oldest were able to ride in one after the show. Was like $10 and they went over some cars and off a jump. I was surprised insurance let them do it actually, and hoping I can get a ride in one next year.
