While I'm figuring out an appropriate prize, can we find out more about what, um, you know, happened?
More the car was rusty, than just the suspension. I think if the suspension would have been rusty, there might have been a little less overall damage.
Common occurence on SAAB 93's. they even had a fix for it. I saw a Mk 1 Rabbit doe this on the front during an ice race. Ok, it's old stuff.
Ouch! Gonna fix it? My brother had a shock tower fail on his Corolla wagon and had it welded by a neighbor. Adventurous for sure!

It's hellaflush now right? I can't imagine it being worth fixing. Id have a hard time ever trusting it again too.
I just had mine welded and reinforced before replacing the quick struts. Car not only handles better, I don't have to turn the radio on to drown out the noise.

That's awesome.

Yep, definitely looks like a '91-'96 Escort. I've never seen that happen before! Sure, they all break rear springs, but that's nuts.
So was it repaired and bondoed at one point? Because it looks like it just broke, and doesn't really look that rusty.
It is indeed a 95 escort wagon. The other half of the mount is crustier than the pictured side but my mind is still blown.
