The 9th marked 2 years with this company. Today marked the end of my Internship (which is kind of ridiculous that a 4 year degree + a professional certification + a 2 year internship is required for this E36 M3, but I digress) and what was to be the start of my full-status as a licensed, accredited, and certified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the state.

Except my employer forgot to submit the paperwork.

Instead of getting my own cases and a raise today I got told off by the state for not having the papers in (even though only an employer can submit them) and not only is the company owner on vacation (with no phone service), but by the time they come back and submit it I'll have to wait for a 10 business day "review".

berkeley me!

I am so pissed right now!!!

My only comment is this:
your chosen vocation is an admirable one. I wish you much success and enjoyment is what I would imagine is a rewarding career.

Oh yeah, my lower back hurts. What do you recommend?

I don't make medical decisions, but I can tell you to stay the berk away from physical therapy! My clients in PT average 36 visits before the payer pulls the plug and/or they get injured even worse.

Sometimes this job is really rewarding (like retraining a broken-backed carpenter to be a jeweler) but lately it's been nothing but absolute crap.

If you can convince Mrs Javelin to move, we'd be there by the end of the berking week.

yeah, i'm sure they "accidentally" forgot to file the paperwork that would force them to pay you more money, and i'm sure the owner "accidentally" can't get to it for a couple of weeks..

some employers like to "accidentally" forget things that cost them money...

We're contracted to the state. The owner gets paid more by them per hour professionally billed by a full VRC than an Intern, so he's costing himself money.

Can you fill out the paperwork so that it is 100% complete, minus a signature, so it gets submitted immediately upon his return?

Many gov't contracts specify that they will reimburse direct costs (salary), plus overhead (vacation, sick leave (if it hasn't been combined into PTO), auditable business expenses (office space, computers, electricity, etc.) , plus profit. The profit is generally a set percentage based on the total contract cost, so the more the employees earn the greater the profit is in $.
