The Cherokee is known as the Heep- (I mistyped Jeep when talking about it once, and because its a rusty SOB, I figured why not) the mx6 is known as "The other black turbo mazda" And occasionally when I get REALLY confused, the ms3 is known as "the other OTHER black turbo mazda" (I only have two black turbo mazdas). More commonly it's known as "My car". The other cars are all known between myself and the wife by the model of the vehicle, except for the ms3. I once owned an Escort I had nicknamed the Hot Rod because it was loud as hell after the exhaust fell off. And because it was so broken it was funny.
92 GTI 8v is "Little Bit". The black Corrado hasn't earned a name yet (odd, that..I've owned it about 5yrs now). And the green one is the Fried Green Corrado. Car's from Florida, first owner wasn't an enthusiast, I doubt it was ever waxed during the first ten years of its life.
I'm of a similar school of thought that two of the hosts of Top Gear have: women name cars.

My Civic is named Fred because that is what the previous owner named it and I felt bad renaming it... Am I weird?
SWMBO named the Yugo, Hugo.
If you follow the convention for boats - It is extremely bad luck to rename a boat. The name stays!

He looks like he'd be a lot more fun too.
He's certainly my favorite.
My first car was a Honda CVCC named Scooter.
The Chevy Celebrity was The Granny Car, as we acquired it from Chuck's grandmother when she was no longer able to drive.
My Dakota 4WD was Big Red.
The Voyager was the Turbo Van
The Astro was Bandit
The Celica is The Celi'.
My Prelude was The 'Lude.
The Mazda we just call The 3.
I hadn't had a chance to name the Spirit yet, so it was just The R/T.
My '87 Escort GT was "Pandora", short for Pandora's E36 M3 Box. Don't open the box, it's awful in there.
My baby blue '91 Civic 4wd wagon was dubbed "Poonmobile" by friends, I needn't explain why.
My faded red '90 Sentra base coupe was "Jap Tractor", as it looked like it had sat uncovered in a field for forty years and had no exhaust after the cat, and sounded downright agricultural.
'98 Tercel coupe named "Tercel of Doom" by a friend, for it propensity to take a hellish amounts of abuse unscathed.
My daily for the last three years is a Blue Ridge Pearl '02 Impreza TS. It became "BRP Theatre" after a coworker and I would plug the phones into the head unit for YouTubery during lunch hours. His white '91 Volvo 245 is "White Rhino", superseding a white with rusty leopard spots '99 Legacy Brighton wagon named "White Tiger." Several years ago, something like 60% of the nightshift employees at my shop didn't have a license due to DUI, DWI, felony DWL, etc. There was good money in driving them to and from work($5 a seat, each way, cash up front), as many as four at a time... my boss named my car "Tard Barge", and it stuck for a while. Taiden also suggested "Testicle Slayer" as an alternate, I like that too.

Mine are named "the old one", "the new one" and "the truck".
The 86 GMC Van is "Lamont" named in honor of Lamont Sanford of Sanford and Son fame.
My Civic has had many names including "The Civic" or "Racer Car" but secretly I wanted it to be called wasabi becuase it's Japanese and Olive Green. It hasn't really stuck though.
The Blue Geo Prizm is "The Blue Car" it's an appliance
The Cavalier was named by the previous owner The Cav-val-e-a make it sound french, it stuck so be it.
Other cars don't really have names or haven't owned one yet.
My 240SX is named SUE...Series of Unfortunate Events.
That was after the third engine rebuild

I used to feel weird about it..but then I dated one of those people who call their pets their children.
After that, I figured if pets are "children" or "family"..then my cars can certainly be my "pets".
Aside to Lesley: Yeah, all the girls love the Hamster. Even SWMBO says he's her favorite, "..he's just so berkeleying cute!!..", she says.
2012 smart fortwo is Maxwell with license "agent99"
2002 Jetta Wagon 1.8t is Moby 2 the greyt white Greyhound bus. (We rescue greys). This vehicle replaced a white 91 Passat 16V 2.0 wagon named Moby (came with name from PO)
1975 Vette is Sasha (friend named that one)
1983 ITB Rabbit Gti is Race Clyde.
Many of the VW's I've had since about 96 have had some variation on the name Clyde going back to my 81 Rabbit (Clyde), 83 GTi (Bionic Clyde), 81 Scirocco (Millennium Clyde), 87 16v Scirocco (Obi-Clyde-Kenobi), 81 Scirocco S (Darth Clyde).
Had an 88 Alfa Spider Veloce the wife named Donatella.

I bought the Astro because of my rescue Greys!
Well, my son named our car Tom Celica.
Our 4Runner sports an alien trailer hitch cover and acquired the name Aileen.
Other than that, the MR2 is just "the E Stock" car and the Capri is just the Capri.
I have a friend who used to have a Buick? Oldsmobile? Something version of a Nova. Suspension was totally worn out so it kind of glided everywhere. It was named "The Floater".
A good one- Paul McCartney called his car Helen Wheels.

I'm trying to convince the wife to do this. I could tow the Gti to the track and sleep in it too!
You should. They love the Astro:
Other vans would work, too.
My Camaro is sometimes called Mario..the Camario. My red Neon is called the red car. My old ministocker was called the race kitty, because of the Hello Kitty stickers when it came from salvage.
All the other ones are identified by the last 4 digits of the serial number. At one point this winter, I owned 32 silver 2K Neons...

I refer to my Mini as the Turd. That way, there is no real reason to wash it since one cannot polish a turd. Why spend time cleaning it when I could be driving it?
I tend to stick with the names the manufactures gave them. My wife has named a couple though.
Our '04 Ram 2500 4x4 Diesel got named Goliath. Parked next to anything else in the driveway it was a Goliath.
When we sold the Ram to a buddy and bought his '01 Ram Van, originally it got named "Big Red" since it's a giant red box. But when I was complaining about how the ugly extended front bumper gives the van an under bite, she renamed it Baron Ünderbheit (in reference to the Venture Brother's character).
Many people seem to have a reason to name my van, and it has had many over the years. For me, I call it "the van" or sometimes "my van." As for my RX-8, I call it "my car," or sometimes "the Mazda" to distinguish it from my wife's car.
I may lack creativity, but nobody looks at me like i'm crazy. I guess I should say nobody looks at me like I'm crazy until I talk slightly more...

The Mustang convertible was the "pervertible" (it was the pre-PC 80's)
The Pantera was the "Bahnanna."
The Land Cruiser is just the "Cruiser".
Right now, the MR2 is "Rusty".
The Lightning was "the Lightning".
The SVO was "SOVO". or "Airwolf" because of the whistling sound it made.
The F-150 is simply "my trusty,dusty F-150".
The Saleen was "Bitch", as in "Let's crank up this bitch and go to Lynchburg for some BBQ".

rose (as in Tokyo Rose. She wasn't really a traitor, and this isn't really a 1930's datsun.)
Lucy, named for the Peanuts character
The Miata came with the name "Nasty Natalie"
Although I call it "Me-Otter" frequently I have put a new engine in it since getting it though.
While I was in FSAE we had the convention that a chassis was the race number and the engines had names. Rather helped with keeping things straight as we had several F4i's sitting around and they went from car to car.
Almost forgot my sprockets entry.. Emily
