So the gas line to my dryer started leaking, confirmed which joint it was with a detector.  Took apart, reseal, still leaking. Replaced the elbow. Still leaking, now at the other joints too that I took apart. Re did everything, still leaking! Using the yellow type sealant.

Why has every  joint I touch set off the detector?  Went outside with the joint compound tube and put the detector to it BEEP-BEEP-BEEP. The sealant is setting off the detector.  What the Berkley?!

My dad was a gas mechanic for the power company. They always tested with soapy water. I e always done the same and never had an issue.
