I watch G4 from time to time. I actually haven't for a while. I had it on and they kept advertising for the new Esquire network, so I decided to check out what the new station was all about and found out that it's replacing G4.
It sucks in a nostalgic way, because I've watched G4 since it was a new network, but realistically, I'm not surprised. I actually wondered a while back when it was going to change formats.
All I hope is that they keep showing X-Play and the E3 Expo.
That said.... i'm psyched for the Esquire network.
I remember when it was techtv. Back before the stupid this week in internet memes shows. I don't read esquire so I doubt I'll be interested in a TV network about it.

TechTV was great. G4 was pretty good until all the older hosts dropped off and the meme shows started popping up. AOTS was always pretty entertaining.

Lots of really cool travel/adventure-looking shows.
I'll reserve final judgement once i actually watch some of them, but they've got a nice mix of contributors and really interesting looking shows.
At least, you know... from the previews.
No More G4 Network?
I blame the switch from PowerPC to Intel processors.
Olivia Munn
She left Attack of the Show so there was no need for the network anymore.
I did enjoy it, but like moparman said I too have found memories of TechTV.
If you like that stuff, check out Revision 3. Patrick Norton from TechTV, and a lot of other old show hosts from way back when are on several of their shows. Roger Chang is pretty entertaining in a dry super geek kind of way. Veronica Belmont (might know her from CNET "First Look" videos) cohosts Techzilla with Patrick Norton, they're a pretty good tech geek duo and Veronica is a pretty cute geek. Systm is another favorite of mine, DIY computer/avi/gaming/killer robots show, but they did away with the long format episodes, there's still over 100 past episodes that are worth checking out.
Revision 3
Teckzilla
Systm
There's a ton of other channels, video games, movies, news, film making, comics, etc. and they have a Youtube channel you can subscribe to.

Good one. I always think that when I hear G4.

techtv transition to g4 = dudebros masquerading as tech nerds taking over the marketing image.
they stupidly fail to realise that their attempt to change rather than add to their market base was doomed to fail because 'those people' are still more interested in other things chiefly.
I miss Leo still.... his radio show just isnt the same...

I'm not hating on Esquire, their travel shows do look interesting, but I would like to know what else are they bringing to the table.
When AOTS went off the air, it was only a matter of time.
Screen Savers fans should see ATOS' final farewell:
