I'm sick of people leaving crap under my windshield wiper. It is probably the most expensive part of that truck. I'm sitting in the shop and watching some guy approaching vehicles slowly and berkeleying with them. Yep. Dropped a flyer for something. I didn't even check to see what it was before I threw it away. Maybe I can hook up a remote air horn. That would be the most entertaining thing to do. I'd put a no soliciting sticker on there, but I doubt anyone would give a E36 M3.
If only they made quick release wipers, then you could take them off when you park. That would totally berkeley with their minds.
Haaaah! Yes... If only...
Then someone would forget to put the wipers back on and scratch the E36 M3 out of their windshield, or kids would come by, lift the wiper arm up and let it slam down on the glass sometimes breaking it in an act of useless vandalism like kids are known for.
What are they going to use on those wiperless cars? The ones that will use vibration to shake the water off. Yea, I'm still trying to figure it out, too...
If they don't put them under the wipers then they'll just put them on the doors between the glass and the sweep across the bottom. About every 3rd front door panel I take apart has at least 1 flier for a night club or something stupid.
The parking lot at work got hit with this last week. It resulted in a revenge fantasy of waiting near my car and shooting the offender with an LTL handgun loaded with alternating rubber bullets and pepper balls.
Install a very sensitive car alarm set to play back Hitler yelling for 5-10 seconds. At least you get to scare the hell out of the guy.
A lot of cars already have quick release wipers. You pull them up, flip a little catch at the base, then the whole works slides off.
Where are you guys getting plastered with flyers? I don't think my car has ever gotten a flyer put under the wipers... Is it a regional thing? I'm in the northwest...
happens a lot here in the mall (NJ) I always thought somehow incorporating the programming in one of these Useless Machines would be fun for people who lift the wipers to put papers under them. Just imagine the hours of fun you could have if the wipers of your car move on their own when somebody touches them

I'll add this to my list of things I will change when I'm King for a day.
Yes, I believe in capitalism but I am tired of being viewed as a being that only exsits to be sold something. Most advertising I can ignore. But this requires someone to touch MY property AND I have to remove it before going about my business. Next will be people that throw trash, oops I mean valuable coupons, on my porch.
Get off my lawn! Literally

Wow. I can't imagine how you guys would handle it if you lived somewhere with real problems.

I hope the real problem isn't you then
I usually pull the flyer out and drop it in the parking lot. I dislike littering but I figure that if all the flyers end up having to be cleaned up by the people that own the property, they'll get serious about enforcing a no soliciting policy on their grounds.
Just to be courteous I remove all the ones from the neighboring cars and drop them in the parking lot too.

When I was in college we always had people handing out flyers on the main road through campus, where I parked my motorcycle. I got a lot of enjoyment out of approaching the flyer-person, on the way to my bike in full gear with a tinted visor, and just staring at them (picture the Stig) when they tried to hand me a flyer. After about 10 seconds, they would usually retract the hand with the flyer and move away a few steps
