Am I going outside today.

I was standing out in a customers backyard yesterday and the thermometer on my phone said it was 122. She had a digital indoor outdoor weather center that said it was 114.

And today is supposed to be worse than yesterday. That is just way too hot.

I'm not working on my car.

I'm not washing my wifes car.

I'm not doing anything that has something to do with being outside.

Dude just go back for work from Manhattan it was 100+ in the city with 90% humidity. I felt like a dried out sponge.

122 is way to hot.

The 100 it was here yesterday was HOT, but not like the normal 40% humidity 85F hot we normally get. If I had the choice, I would take yesterday over the normal.

Yeah, I was surprised when people said it hit 99 the other day. It felt pretty pleasant. Humidity was only 30-40%, not 90-95% like we normally get when it gets that warm.

Ah, I remember spraying a can of brake cleaner on one of those days, and it just formed a puddle. Wouldn't evaporate.

I got home just as the sun was setting last night and it was still around 95* It was very humid last night.

My wife went to get some groceries. I guess I'll have to help her get them in. But other than that I'm staying in.

just hope it cools down by next weekend ... I'm going to be at an a-x in Knoxville next Sunday .... 122° will make it tough to do a whole day on a black asphalt parking lot

The last forecast I've seen show a decent cool down towards the end of next week. Are you running with the SCCA or another group. I had big plans of making all the events this year and so far I've only made it to one. And that one was a bust because of fuel starvation issues.

I had at 90 something degree day yesterday then had not one, but two severe storms that blew through. The first one came with 50 mph winds and sent my wife to the ER with a Concussion, the second came with 70 mph winds and tried to remove every piece of lawn furniture from my yard.

Now it's 100% humidity And it's already 90 degrees.

About ten minutes from my house. I may have to make a special apperance out there just to say hey to another GRMer.

It's a good lot. Two lots an upper and a lower are put together and some very cool courses can be created. I like it when they start on the upper lot and finish on the lower. You can really get some speed up coming down hill and they usually throw a reducing radius sweeper in at the bottom of the hill just to make things interesting.

Random video of lot. Not my car, or me for that matter.

If you pay real close attention at around 1:50 in this video you can hear the tire smoking supercharger whaling start of my old Grand Prix and catch a brief glimpse of it at around 2:10 or so.

Yeah, this weather sucks. It could be 110 cooler and you wouldn't hear me complain. I don't complain about the cold 'till it's -20F or below, maybe -10*F. As soon as it's 85 I start to suffer.

It was only 98 here yesterday, but the humidity was about 60%. It made being out in the brightly lit oven they call the outdoors painful.

Is that real degrees, or Farenheit?

Funny story you might enjoy..I was in school in the US back when Jimmy Carter had plans to convert the US to metric. Strange after-effect, I think metric in small measurements (model building in mm/cm, cooking in cc/grams), but English in big ones (distance, weight). I think of an oil change in liters, but a fuel stop in gallons. SWMBO says, "...do you need anything from the store?", and I reply, "..yeah, bring back half a kilo of pork, and a 20lb. sack of dog food." She just rolls her eyes..

I dated a nice English girl about 15yrs. ago. She said one of the things she enjoyed about the US was that, "..you still use real measurement, instead of that nonsense from the Continent.."

It's days like today when I'm glad the central air in my house is oversized and will get the temp inside down to nice, comfy 75 with little problem.

Unfortunately, right now I'm working in the non-conditioned part of the house....
