I can't believe that Conor siting 29th at practice today, isn't trying to pitch his ride to Hinch for a fulltime seat. Especially since many of the drivers have indicated that if you aren't in the front pack then you have no chance.

I don't think that's true. For one thing, look at what Adrian said about Rossi. Same car, same setup, went from 10th to 32nd overnight. That can easily happen in the other direction, of course. And also, running by yourself in qualifying is nowhere near the same thing as running in a pack. A lot can happen in 500 miles, I wouldn't count anyone out.

It looks like Hinch is going to miss the show.  Conor was pretty much the only option and the scuttlebutt says he'd be open to an offer of $2m plus three guaranteed fully funded races for the rest of the season.  In other words no way.  Conor put the deal together himself, bringing the AirForce and other sponsors in.  He's worked hard to get into the show and what would it say to all those sponsors he brought in if he just sold out.  IT would undermine his credibility with them unless he could offer them a serious RIO, such as their logo on three more drives for no further input.

I used spec series as a generality.
