With Jerks like this lady around.. Maybe .. Just maybe they are slightly justified. Atleast the Critical mshiny happy persons haven't killed anyone yet and bragged about it.

That's not to say that Critical Mass doesn't overdo it from time to time. Bicyclists in general aren't a bad thing. They can be annoying if they think they're entitled to ignore the rules of the road, but the problem with Critical Mass is the mob mentality that takes over when they start to get pissed off in large numbers.

I agree.. But again.. If you didn't have people who bragged about killing bicyclists...

We don;t have a problem with an us vs them biculist culture here. They are everywhere, especially on weeeknds. They get up in the mountinas and do some serious training. Its kinda like lane sharing in Cali. Its so woven into the culture that peaple just deal with it. Here the bicyclist are so part of the land scape no one cares. We see them, share the road and there is no need for conflict.

But unless that guy was a child molester, she deserves those 10 years. Thats pretty berkleyed up right there.

My method for staying safe while riding a bicycle: Be as visible as possible, wear a well-fitting helmet, ride defensively, know where traffic is and always be prepared for sudden stops and maneuvers, follow rules of the road, and cross fingers.

My issue is with a group of riders, not a single, or pair of bikes. Just like a huge mob of cars need to stay in a line, so should the cycles.

Also, I think the cop should have to shoot every tenth drunk diver in the face. "Sorry, I know you are just BARELY over the limit, but you are number ten, so..." BLAM!

Or, try every drunk driver with attempted manslaughter. Because they are out there trying to kill someone.

Harsh, but im not going to argue against that one... maybe we could finnaly be rid of my Uncle Mike and Aunt Pat.

But I would feel bad for the cop for the paper work he would have to do afterwards.

i dont know about you but if some drunk female dog(why doesnt this forum filter this term?) ran down one of my family members i dont think 10 years in prison would be enough to satisfy me. I dont know if anything would but 10 years is nothing.

that's 10 years to figure out where to hide a body, get some fake ID, buy a limo, make a sign with her name on it, and pick her up outside the jail on release day.

but i'm not suggesting anything....

This is a drunk driving incident. No more, no less.

Critical Mshiny happy persons are a completely different topic.

Bicyclists by themselves are not a problem at all as long as they don't obstruct traffic and obey traffic laws.

Drivers of cars aren't a problem as long as they obey traffic laws, such as not driving drunk, and not hitting other traffic aka bicycles.

Drivers and Cyclists are a problem when they do not obey laws or become a lawless mob.

This doesn't excuse the Mshiny happy persons behavior. If they get hit by a car when obstructing traffic, running a redlight, being physically threatening, riding on the interstate it's really their own fault.

Nor does it excuse this woman's attitude or drunk driving. She deserves her punishment just like anyone else who did the same thing.

I would like the record to show that I don't know Mellissa Arrington of Tuscon and never spoke to here on a jail telephone.

Well, seeing as how it was her second offense, shooting her in the face would be too nice. I think that the previous 9 pulled over by that officer should have 4 names drawn, and each of them gets to hook a chain to their bumper, and to one of her limbs. Then, they all dirve off in seperate directions...
