Is anyone else (on a Mac) having an issue with OSX Lion? I have to log in every time I visit the message boards, then hit refresh on every page I want to post on. Started right after the upgrade, and it is not confined to GRM, other sites are forgetting my logins as well.

That's almost always a cookies/cache issue. Clear both, log back in, and see what happens.
Haven't upgraded to Lion yet...
Do you have "private browsing" turned on in your browser? Chrome/Safari/Firefox all call it something different, but it'd cause that problem.
Yet one more reason to stick with Snow Leopard I guess.
It's not a lion issue, it's a cookies issue.
It is in fact a "private browsing" issue. It apparently stays on now, even if you close and re-open the browser. Nice feature for browsing porn at work I suppose, but I'm turning it off because I never, ever browse porn. (the GRM hotlink thread not withstanding of course.)
Gawd I wish I had never 'upgraded' to Lion, this is berkeleying horrible. Every time I 'Organize by' there is a split in the middle of my finder window, it's driving me batty! Is there any way to turn this off?
Preview doesn't work the same anymore - anytime I open a batch of pictures to view and try to resize one or two I have to 'Unlock' them, wtb is this all about?? I can't resize it and save a copy it changes the original? I'm going out of my mind here!
Is there any way to go back to Snow Leopard without wiping the entire computer???

Yikes, thanks for the warning. Good luck with that!

It's b'n horrible! Luckily there was an issue with my CC payment so I haven't been charged for it (what are the chances this is actually my problem? Nah, Apple isn't THAT powerful, are they?) so I have no problem not using it. I actually HATE my Macbook Pro and have contemplated using my old HP workpad for a while until this gets settled.

I think I'd clear it and reinstall. I'm still Snow Leopard on my iMac and Macbook, guess I will resist upgrading!
I think it depends on your usage - chknhwk really seems to have run into some annyoing changes.
I had to upgrade to Lion so I could get the latest XCode - not that I use XCode itself but I wanted access to the latest C/C++ compiler. If that hadn't required Lion I probably would've stuck to Snow Leopard, but I don't think Lion is much less useable. At least not once you turn off the various inverted scroll directions and similar fun stuff.

Oh yes, my biggest gripe, old applications (such as my copy of Microsoft office that was $100+) is absolutely unuseable - it is not supported anymore. Be very careful before upgrading.
Ah yes, the lack of Rosetta. You can obviously get a newer Office, but that might not be an option for other applications like Quicken that still isn't available in native x86.

I've never seen Mac not support old versions, that's always been a MS thang.

Yeah, I have a couple of old external drives with files, even quark documents, going back to System 9. I can still open them, although some of them will cause Finder to crash.

Actually they have been discontinuing support for certain older technologies and they actually seem more radical than MS about it.
Basically when they switched to Intel processors, they had a translation layer that allowed you to run older OS X software that was built for PowerPC - that one's been discontinued with Lion (that's the "Rosetta" I mentioned above). IIRC the OS 9 compatibility layer has also been removed a few revisions back.
No probs here on either mac.

I was forced to up grade my Mac when I could no longer access ITunes Store ...
ITunes Store no longer recognized software as old as mine ( Tiger ) I think it was upgraded to Snow Leopard ... ( last winter ) remember something about Lion not being completely ready for stand alone sale .... I'd give just about anything to be able to go back to Tiger ....
even though I click the little box that says log me in automatically each time I visit such&such web site ... every few days .... poof.... gotta re-log in .... starting to get irritating ( no sarcasm emoticon ) ... this is only on a couple of the sites ... the rest, no problem
plus now it seems you can't buy an entire album for $9.99 ... it's seems like only $.99 /song no matter how many songs
