tonite at Richmond in the Nationwide series. Think I will watch.
If he has the money he will do fine, because he obviously has the balls. I have always thought that you could pretty much buy your way into a top spot in NASCAR if you have the testicular fortitude to hug the wall. Not that I don't love roundyround. Its a blast, but he with the big wallet wins.
Still have to be able to drive, for the most part though. I have seen a lot of guys in Spec Miata with $30k cars in the rearview of my $7k one.

Yes, but at the top of Nascar its far more about the money spent on the car, I think.
Yes and no. While the big teams can spend the big bucks on car development, they can also afford to pay for the best drivers. Or in the case of Hendricks, ones that bring in big sponsor money.

I'd actually think it is about the ability to test, considering how "spec" the cars are.

i agree.. but it's a culture thing- NASCAR drivers are raised on friday and saturday nights at the local dirt and paved ovals, and it's a better spectator experience because you can see the whole track from the stands instead of just one corner and part of a straight at a time at a road course...
as far as Pastrana is concerned- it doesn't matter if it's a Big Wheel or a monster truck, the guy can drive anything with wheels. i think he'll do fine.
For his first race he did OK, he didn't crash and he raced with other cars. He finished rather far back but I think he beat Danica. The last lap of the race was fun to watch with Kurt Bush and Denny Hamlin doing some rubbing.
Pastrana has more riding/driving talent in his little toe than I have in my entire body and is amazingly adaptable. He might have finished sort of far back but I guarantee you he learned a lot. He will quickly move up in the NASCAR rankings.
But that still doesn't mean I'm going to follow NASCAR.

She got him by one place. She was 21st, he was 22nd. In all, not a bad showing given his oval experience.
He finished higher than he started. Would have been better if he hadn't earned a pit penalty. It's a good start. I think it shows he's using his head(other than the penalty). I think also shows that he can hang with the other drivers. More time behind the wheel of a nascar will create even better results.
The one that really shown was Dave Blany's son. Oh, right we were talking about Pastrana. He will do well I am sure.
