Pinks. Yeah, I don't get it.

Sitting in my hotel room flipping channels around. Pinks?

It's basically staged street racing at a drag strip. Sandbagging, pedaling the car, cheating, all acceptable. DUMB.

i have hated that show from day one, that uber gober running around with chest all stuck out like he is all that and a bowl of grits........until that one day where there was a wreck down at the finish line and puffy runs and jumps on some dudes crotch rocket and you can hear the bike owner warning him that bike is HOT, meaning it is really really fast and puffy twists the throttle and that back tire took a set, you know where the rubber meets the road and twisted puffys arse 3 ways to Sunday and laid him out on the asphalt, of course puffy jumped up bleeding from head to toe and blew it off like it was nothing.....now that was a cool show!!! No offence intended.

I actually like pinks all out. No love at all for pinks though.

I like pass time... I don't have TV but if I'm on the road it's been a neat show the few times I have seen it.

Pinks was a shadow of all it was meant to be when they had the idea and decided to market it to the masses.

All of those shows piss me off that they refuse to show imports. I've seen 1000 rednecks hammer a thousand 10 second G-bodies down the quarter and sandbag what jets they have in the carb, I wanna see what they do when an Evo hooks on street tires and waxes. Not to say i'm an import vs. domestic snob, but if we're talking about "street" style racing, you're talking big ticket AWD cars, just as much as you are gonna see wheel standing chevelles.

I just don't like drag racing at all. Seeing pinks on everytime I turn on speed just irritates the crap out of me.

I haven't watched it in ages, so I don't know how lame it's gotten. They had a handful of imports in the early days. It's a pathetic bias that they don't have EVOs on a damn drag racing show.

It's a format that can't really work. But I do remember seeing one that was pretty entertaining. A guy shows up with a 2nd gen turbo RX7. Couple of close races, then of course he was sandbagging massively. They cranked the boost and the car launched with some insane power and must have beat the other car by 3 seconds. Silly, but an entertaining contrast to the sandbag launches.

Watching the D-nozzle crash that sport bike was quite epic.

Oh, yah..if not now, then soon. Channel's about to change format, nobody's spending money on new content for the old format. Break out the re-runs until the changeover date.

i used to hang out at the local(ish) 1/8 mile track almost every friday night for the street grudge race nights, and there were very few imports there after a while... they got sick of getting beat all the time by beat up rusted old junkers... but i did have a couple of pretty even races with a brand new (04) WRX STi in my Nova...

Can't do that locally here at muncie......we've had some 9 second FC's, evos, and s2ks. The subaru guys generally break down or blow the launch because its actually sticky though

I think they filmed at Bithlow. Last I heard, the strip was going to close....

well. ... with the changes that seem to be coming to Speed Channel you probably won't have to put up with Pinks for much longer

What I like about Pinks is seeing Mustangs that look like they cost $1200 turn low nines. There are some cool cars on there from time to time, but most are built quickly and on a budget in case they loose.

As to the import comments, they need to put their glass cars out there and then shut up. All they ever do is run their mouth on the internet about how 50k got them to the 10's, one time and now down for months on end for "repairs/upgrades", and how there is no way anybody else can do it for less money or any different then themselves.

Plenty of internet talkers, to be sure. HOWEVER- I know plenty of cars and owners that are DEEP into the "Pinks" territory without huge breakage. I just get tired of "all redneck, all the time".

These are about the only interesting import drag racers to me.

As to the other, I could put on a race where I restrict the domestics to a 28" tall, 275 width true radial tire from the local PepBoys, weighing 3500#, and must run a stock 2bolt main block with a T5 and "unrestricted" Imports, your Evo's, WRX's, etc, plus put up 50k, or some other amount worthwhile to win for next year, I bet I would get maybe 2-3 imports and 15+ domestics. This is the reason you don't see the sport compact racing series anymore, lack of racing participation.

Just so you know, all cars/trucks suck. Some just suck less then others and all in different ways.

Check your press releases Bubba, Orlando Speed World was bought lock, stock, and barrel by another track owner. They are already doing massive improvements and will have a complete 2013 schedule. I'm 3000+ miles away and know that!
